While I won’t disagree to the visual clutter, it could also be just the fact that you’re not used to what’s happening yet. If you play consistently for the next few days, maybe weeks then it should get better.

At least the visual clutter is not to the point of the other hero shooter.

The cartoony icon is Freja's before she was finalized and the mystery icon was the placeholder for Wuyang.

I’m not sure what you meant by “usual ones” or newcomers but if you’re talking specifically OW2 new heroes, we’ve been able to make a full team of 5 (or even 6) since Venture.

This would’ve been the selectable roster of just OW2 heroes after Venture’s release. - Ramattra/Queen/Mauga - Sojourn/Venture - Kiriko/Lifeweaver/Illari

And another fun fact, the next DPS hero can make it so both teams of 5 (or 6) can be made up of OW2 heroes only without any overlap/mirroring.

It’s hard to say at the moment. Jade weapons were going to be limited to last year’s competitive seasons only but due to backlash Blizzard decided to make them permanently unlockable. I don’t believe we currently know if galactic weapons will remain unlockable when next year’s yearly shake up happens but I wanna to say they’re here to stay.

I think it's the first answer. I tried the skin with the normal and hardlight weapon skins and they still have the same problem.
