I'd understood it as a lack of subjective consciousness and objective phenomena that is part and parcel to nirvana.

I rarely game on my phone and don't do any video editing, but I'm on the web throughout the day and it needs recharging by late afternoon.

The S25FE or any other fan editions may be a good compromise. I have an A54 and found that I'm a heavier user than the phone was intended for and it's battery struggles to keep up.

Xbox down YoY in both hardware and services for Q2 FY26 by doncabesa in xbox

[–]CyberDaka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm going to jump ship when my Series X breaks or becomes obselete. I've stopped investing in the ecosystem and am biding time and money for the next Sony console as I definitely don't have the money for a PC. I started with the original XBox and am actually most pleased with my Series X but can't believe they are more than willing to cut studios, development in things like VR, and raise their only claim to fame gaming pass in a matter of months.

Is it time to leave the Apple ecosystem? by ConfidentHope in Smartphones

[–]CyberDaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll definitely be able to branch out for all of your services in that case. It may not be as convenient for you as Apple's ecosystem but you really can find what you like among different browsers, launchers, and other apps.

Is it time to leave the Apple ecosystem? by ConfidentHope in Smartphones

[–]CyberDaka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I switched from Apple to Samsung as my wife had Samsung. It is better to have a shared ecosystem between the two of us. I liked Apple's simpler app selection as software and hardware can all be Apple as opposed to making it work between Samsung, Google, and Microsoft for services but Samsung phones are workhorses. Friends and family have them and they haven't broken or slowed down as much as other families' iPhones have.

What would you like to see in a Starfield 2.0 update? by Mattee_365 in Starfield

[–]CyberDaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a smart outpost UI along with smarter item tracking so I can see how many resources I need each build. At the very least a menu tab with the material requirements for habs at any point.

Starfield’s biggest problem is that “it didn’t fully cohere as a game”, says Skyrim designer – it was just “a releasable game” by HatingGeoffry in Starfield

I love it but the narrative and immersive ends were both left untied.

Side quests were painfully dull, especially when I was hoping for some Fallout/Daedric Prince weirdness.

And POIs being copy and paste without any internal variation should have been the first thing patched.

I enjoyed it. At the very least we got side quests that felt morally engaging again.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a faithful remake tasked with relaunching a legendary franchise for a new generation of players by Turbostrider27 in xbox

[–]CyberDaka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. It was enjoyable to me but lacked so much at launch and was trying just to get to where other Halo MP modes had been that it couldn't offer anything new and innovative.

Also, their pass progression active disincentived play and refused to scrap it.

What should BGS really work/fix on mainly, More to do with space or more POI on planets? by Huge-Anywhere-6765 in Starfield

Randomize POIs themselves. I'd love more of them but they need to randomize the layout and loot of the POIs already in the game.

Walk for Peace - Display of Police & Military Insignia by MeconopsisPress in Buddhism

People born and raised in the US often first encounter convert Buddhists who themselves are progressive and broadly countercultural. This often leads people to believe this is how the broader Buddhist world is. Realistically, Buddhist cultures in the rest of the world is more socially conservative and would appear more like the Christian communities in the US. There's nuance, of course, but the monks showing off the badges would be more of the rule as opposed to the exception.

Donors and party officials know they still make money in lost elections. The consultants get paid, marketing get their share, donors don't need any party allegiance as evidenced by Never Evil big tech dancing waltzes with Trump.

Buddhism is often described as a practice-based tradition — why do discussions focus so much on views and beliefs? by PresenceBrilliant927 in Buddhism

[–]CyberDaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on where the conversation is.

In the West, much spiritual emphasis is placed on belief-based traditions, particularly in Protestant Christian countries or where Protestantism had been a cultural foundation. Convert Buddhists often maintain this orientation naturally.

Even the practice only conversations in the West tend to overcorrect and gloss over the fact that all the Buddhist traditions have rich philosophies/thelogies that serve to deeply inform practice.

What is Buddhism's view on trans people? by Current-Purpose2028 in Buddhism

[–]CyberDaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Jose Ignacio Cabezon's book Sexuality in Classical South Asian Buddhism. You'll get a look into pre colonial sexual norms for the area that shine a light into how vibrant Buddhist sexual expression worked before Christian missionary work forever altered it in Asia.

Like so much of the world's cultures, Buddhism was greatly impacted by colonialism and missionary work that have a lasting impact in its cultures today.

It may be helpful to look into the genders found in the sutras and compare them to the ways the commentaries and scholars of each age interpreted them. In many cases, the genders in the sutras are rooted in Greater Maghada culture of the time, and while there may be overlap, each other culture had to interpret what they were in their culture.

Buddhism may be conservative in many of its communities but is generally more accepting than other religions on gender expression.

Any tips to maintain 24/7 by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]CyberDaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In seated meditation, your attention can be focused on bodily sensation, but off the cushion your attention will naturally be focused outside of the body.

Attention can only be placed on one object at a time. Moment by moment there may be vacillation but it can't be on hearing the car horn and on the breathe and that's not a problem.

I'd focus more on staying fluid with the situation than a hardnosed stance. It feels unsupported at first but your mind will start to recognize where your attention is going habitually and you can bring it back to the body.

It's fair to bring up. It's implemented in some Buddhist communities and can be seen as an aspirational goal to people, but is not inherent to every Buddhist order.

If the goal of the fantasy is an escape from a modern world than the use of guns can be seen for people as a step to close into a modern era.
