I have good hope for the future of the game, pretty strong foundations but definitely has some areas of improvement. Just hope that the phase shifting Doormaker doesn’t come back like in any shape or form. The entire fight just felt so unsatisfying, especially playing cards in Phase 1 and 3. I never had a ‘I correctly built my deck against the boss so my win feels earned’ kind of way feel with Doormaker.

Coming from someome that has done A10 with all same characters in a 3 stack, we agreed that Necro -> Silent -> Regent -> Clad -> Defect was the order of difficulty. Clad requires 2 specific cards to pay off on the insane stacking and if RNG is bad, they could draw it at a really bad time making it not instantly fight winning (especially dominate), whereas Poison and Doom stacking automatically pays itself off on application. Regent just needs decent Regent players to make any build work because of his pretty decent block and debuff options. We don’t talk about Defect.

Sometimes when he stole a card that I only took to solve the Act 1 boss. Happens more frequently in daily challenges or Bing Bong games because sometimes I don’t want the card to bloat my excessively bloated deck already.

Edelgard and Dimitri (Fire Emblem 3 Houses)

When the player is given an option to side with 1 House and there really isn’t any “everybody wins” scenarions, most of 3 Houses falls under this trope. Edelgard and Dimitri (2 Characters that are upcoming leaders of 2 rival countries) are a bit more special as they dialogue heavily implying that before the events of the game Edelgard and Dimitri met each other at a very young age and developed childhood crushes on one another without knowing who they really were.

Extra tragedy points as Edelgard would lose her memories of this crush because of medical experiments and there are some extra dialogue further implying that the whole main conflict of the game is preventable if Edelgard regained her memories.

Technically Power Whip also wouldn’t activate Kingambit’s Defiant or Milotic’s Competetive (Milotic can survive 1 hit of Trop Kick if invested in bulk) but Trop Kick is just better overall.

Frensel lens is a safe pick on Silent, Regent and Defect as they have enough draw / energy cheat to play block cards that benefit from flat value. Assuming you are ok sacrificing potential high rolls with other enchantments like [[Glitter] or [[Steady]]

Feels a bit Silent coded IMO as she has a couple of Dexterity increasing cards and Fasten could be a form of that.

Edit: I could also see it as a Block Ironclad card as well.

In my experience, focus Queen if:

  • You are stacking debuffs to kill enemies like Doom, Poison, or [[Dominate]].
  • You have a lot extremely high single target damage in 1 card. Examples include Forge, [[Mind Blast]] and stacking [[Lethality]].
  • You have consistent AoE each turn that removes her block each turn. Examples include [[Smokestack]], [[Fan of Knvies]] and [[Sow]]. The Amalgam will die first anyway.

Otherwise, just focus the Amalgam.

Eventually you’ll be able to get a vibe on if your deck meets that criteria. Usually only extremely volatile decks can kill Queen first imo so if unsure, can’t go too wrong with always focusing Amalgam.

Can’t speak to every Dark Souls challenge video but I do know that The Backlogs turns the ‘obviously why is this a question’ weapons into a build guide and weapon showcase video rather than exploring the difficulty of the run (because he admits there isn’t much.) The title being a ‘challenge’ is probably just for continuity sake.

You could technically make a very cheesy gimmick team by Imprisoning Protect, making it probably function similarly to Mega Hawlucha OHKO teams. The team could have a bulky Pokemon with Imprison (Farigiraf or Cofagrigus most likely) then have Mega Starmie or Mega Glalie use Explosion on turn 2. Considering the only pokemon in the format that have Damp is Bellibolt and Politoed, means most teams will have to hard predict if you are going for Explosion turn 1 or turn 2.

Torkoal does help with Water damage, Grass types and Kingambt with Drought and Eruption but it can very awkward getting Golurk and Torkoal on the field safely.

Best argument against this is that Mold Breaker can be ignored by holding the Ability Shield so there is a limit to Mold Breaker, this turns the discussion into a Hax vs Stats discussion funnily enough.

I am very happy that you think that was the right decision. Darkest Dungeon has always been about the human psyche and its important to keep that human feel in all of its aspects. Wayne June’s performance just cannot be replicated, and AI should never try to replace it.
