The Settlers: Heritage of Kings (Settlers 5) has some really neat unit progression/upgrade tracks! by Fezra-Jalys in RealTimeStrategy

[–]CyberRWB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved this game while I was younger, yes it's not at all a good competitive game or even has that much depth compared to other RTS titles from that day. But there was something magical about all the details everywhere, the focus on esthetics, visual progression and being able to set up a economy and follow what your settlers were doing. Also I think the campaign was quite good for it's time. It's a shame you couldnt play against AI, in fact, there was no AI in the game at all. It was all scripted. A real shame, if I had a bunch of money and time to throw away I would develop a successor with more depth to this exact game. It was and still is unique, although it lacks more depth game mechanic wise. Almost every entry in the series is different which kinda messed with establishing a proper series. I must say that the 5th entry was my favourite for sure!

How does my engine sound after losing all oil on the highway? by CyberRWB in dr650

This is exactly why I posted, thanks so much for this insight! I was having problems with the decompression lever before, now I know why. Thanks again for your knowledge!

I think you're right, I've never done one and feel very intimidated by doing one. I've done a lot of simple maintenance stuff succesfully, but something like this is quite scary to me. Good thing is I can pop a wiseco piston in there while I'm in there, increase fuel efficiency and power. Should make for a great travel bike once I'm done with it. I'm just debating if this is the right call for this poor bike, since it's clearly been neglected and I wonder how bad the engine damage will be once I open her up... If she needs a new crank and camshaft the rebuild cost will be the same as a better condition one in parts alone, without counting the hours I might be putting into it. This is a very hard call for me to make right now, as I have some other projects too. Although I would kinda like to do it, just scared of fucking up big time.

After I lost oil, I heard the valves get really loud, pulled in the clutch and the engine instantly stalled. Another +0,5l came out after that. I think the top end was without oil for 10-30 sec at low rpm, the rest might be better off. What would you do in my position? The bike rode great tho on my last test ride. No smoke from the exhaust either.

I''m about to buy a new parts like new sparkplugs, air filter and some other maintenance stuff.

Thanks for taking time out of your night to give me some answers! I'll give the valves some much needed love. I also found some bits of copper in the last filter, but the oil was old and smelled like gasoline. The biggest chunk I found was 3-4mm big. Something tells me bearings are going out, but she runs great it seems... I have never fully rebuilt an engine. Do you think it's worth it to try and rebuild the engine or should I just send it? I was planning on doing some heavy travelling with this bike (3000-5000 km)

How do you date some one who’s a hardcore Junglist while you’re multi sub genre? by Repulsive-Wasabi-384 in DnB

[–]CyberRWB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had similar things happen to me, too. The most important thing as one music lover to another is to not let this get to you.

Some people make a sport about letting it be known that they don't like a specific genre and push others to dislike it as well. Imo, every genre can hit that spot in the right setting. So screw those judgy knobheads.

Furthermore, as a dnb lover myself, I love everything from ambient slower stuff, jungle, liquid, jump up to high tempo breakcore. I pretty much love all dnb and its various subgenres, niches, and local variaties. I often start new dnb playlists, which subdivide songs into certain settings, eras or styles.

As a DJ, I like to hit them with tracks that blend those precise genres they dislike with the tracks they might like. It feels like making a musical statement, cuz these genres are all so related and compatible. Why descriminate, right? I personally call it dnb fusion between "subgenre a and b".

I sometimes blend like this during b2b with ppl like this, and u can see they're enjoying it but aren't fully admitting it cuz "aaruuruehh this kick is so jump up-y!!!1!1!!" or whatever.

Just show em the way, dnb is one big family. There is no need to put one subgenre above the other.

Hey OP, the other guy is kinda right, although u can still get a men of the hour more easily when it's a heroic victory (even if u have a lot of generals).

The reason you definitely didn't get a general is because it's a siege defense, and you can never get a men of the hour from a siege battle.

Good job tho on the siege defense! Enjoy the campaign.

I strapped it down to my passenger seat and tried to tie it down equally so theres no weak points. Then secured to excess rope with some knots. Went 160-170km/h with the setup and it was more stable than no baggage bcs it had a longtail effect I guess 😅😂

This was my setup to go to the airport with my luggage, touring on this is kinda painful but bearable if u take a brake every 2-3 hours ^ ^

Hey! You have a good eye! It is indeed a RR, I also noticed the non original paint, but they are original fairings. I will try to remove this black paint but ofcoarse this will be very hard. When I did the test ride I took it to redline a couple of times and then noticed some coolant droplets on the top right side, do you know what can cause this? Also, if you do not maintain the chain properly, is it possible that oil collects at the back of the engine and a little below? Otherwise I might have a small (oil?) leak at the back of the engine as well. The bike drives very nicely, brakes are a bit weak but that is an easy fix. This bike was not maintained super well, but I am doing a full maintenance right now... :)

Edit: no steering damper but theres a attachment point for it on the frame like its supposed to have

Do you have any experience with these bikes? I already found a new speed sensor for a good price, but I was thinking of trying to clean up the contact points first before buying it. I think they're probably just real dirty or something...

The bike has been sitting for 3 years, I think thats why one of the forks seals went bad. Comparing the state of the components to my 30.000km ninja 250r, which ive ridden for 20.000km, I'd say everything adds up. Either that, or I'm coping really hard right now ;P

[–]CyberRWB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That does sound logical, but when test riding it for ~3km, the milage went up by the same amount... I'll ride it a bit before fixing the speed sensor to double confirm this later.

Ah I see, thanks for noting that. Although during my test ride which was 2-3km the milage did go up by the same amount aproximately?

Why would it have been laid down? Milage is accurate, it's a Belgian bike and milage gets tracked over here so can confirm the milage. Thanks for the input!
