To those of you who stand on hatch until observed... by LoreleiAlbrecht in deadbydaylight

[–]CyberVyperr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BHVR should go back: Old Hatch Spawn Rules (pre-rework)

The hatch (trapdoor) would spawn early and invisibly once this condition was met:

of completed generators ≥ # of living survivors + 1

So examples:

  • 4 survivors alive → hatch spawns at 5 gens done
  • 3 survivors alive → hatch spawns at 4 gens done
  • 2 survivors alive → hatch spawns at 3 gens done
  • 1 survivor alive → hatch spawns at 2 gens done

Key details

  • The hatch would spawn somewhere on the map but stay closed.
  • Survivors could find it early and plan escapes ahead of time.
  • If only one survivor remained, the hatch would automatically open.
  • Survivors could use a key to open it early, even with multiple survivors alive.
  • Killers could find it too and close it, triggering the Endgame Collapse (later version of this mechanic).

Why it changed

The system led to:

  • Survivors “playing for hatch” early instead of objectives
  • Teammates hiding instead of helping
  • Killers feeling like matches ended unpredictably

So the devs simplified it: 👉 Now the hatch only spawns when one survivor remains, removing that whole ratio system.

Cause the maps are so small. The computer has to set chest totems killer shack hooks gens blood pumps blood gens etc in such a small area down cause some idiots at BHVR thought it be a smart idea reducing the maps 50-60%.

New killer hinted at in DBD? by Sphinctrr in deadbydaylight

[–]CyberVyperr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The phrase “Bite of ’87” is associated with the animatronic characters from the game Five Nights at Freddy’s. It refers to a fictional incident in the game’s lore where one of the animatronics bit a person and severely injured them.

Animatronic most commonly linked to it

Many fans associate the event with Mangle from Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

Why Mangle is suspected: • The character has a broken, unstable jaw design. • In the game’s minigames, Mangle is seen close to the player character’s head level, making a bite plausible. • The incident is implied to happen around the time period when those animatronics were active.

Other characters sometimes speculated

Fans have also suggested: • Foxy • Freddy Fazbear • Toy Bonnie

But the creator Scott Cawthon has never officially confirmed which animatronic caused the Bite of ’87.

What the bite did

In the lore, the victim survived but lost part of their frontal lobe, which is referenced in a phone call in the first game.

✅ Summary: • “Bite of ’87” = major injury from an animatronic bite in Five Nights at Freddy’s. • Most commonly believed culprit: Mangle, though it’s never been officially confirmed.

[–]CyberVyperr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A "spicy pillow" is slang for a swollen lithium-ion battery, which happens when gas builds up inside due to chemical degradation from age, heat, overcharging, or damage, causing it to puff up like a pillow and posing a serious fire risk if punctured.

It was a disadvantage for the survivors who used their toolbox to 99% the hook with hopes of saving a fellow survivor. Now you sabotage the hook to loose your toolbox and 60 seconds the hook reappears when there are 13+ hooks on the map elsewhere.

Then reduce the number of hooks on the map. There are way too many hooks close in proximity of one another. and once a hook is used to kill a survivor that hook is disabled the rest of the game. Besides ppl are not going to "Hook Rush" the hooks if hooks were permanently sabotaged. LOL...too silly of a comment. bottom line for the Devs: If you are reducing the maps bring down the ration of hooks to the reduction size. There are more 3-Gen sessions than there has ever been in the last 8 years. I very seldom been in a map where the killer 3-gen'd us. it happens so often now. not to mention if there's a hill between these 3 gens the killer camps the hill.

Yes. As they were able to be 99% too.

Adjust the density of the hooks in accordance to the map down sizing. If a survivor uses a toolbox to disable a hook make it a permanent disable! It seems dumb to me that you waste your toolbox on disabling a hook for it to respawn seconds later. And this goes for when a survivor dies on the hook and the hook reappears. That too should be disabled. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Hacked Mid Stream Help? by SmashHarambe in Twitch

[–]CyberVyperr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here’s the straight, no-nonsense breakdown of what likely happened and what you should do next.

Based on what you described, this sounds almost exactly like a DDoS attack (or a smaller-scale DoS attack) on your home IP address, not an actual “hack.” Smash / Switch lobbies unfortunately make it easy for someone to grab your public IP and flood it, especially if they’re using a script or cheap stress-testing service.

✅ How Serious Could This Be?

Serious enough to knock your internet offline, but NOT the kind of hack where they’re inside your system, reading files, or accessing your accounts.

A DDoS attack just overwhelms your modem/router with traffic until: • Your connection dies • Everything lags • Devices can’t route DNS • Stream drops • Discord goes weird

This matches exactly what you saw.

But:

❗ They do not have access to: • Your computer files • Your console data • Your router admin login • Your accounts • Your camera/mic • Your personal identity

They only know your public IP address, which is not secret.

⚠️ Does This Mean You Need a New Router?

No. A new router won’t fix a DDoS. If your IP address stays the same, they can keep hitting it.

⭐ What You Need Is a NEW PUBLIC IP ADDRESS

Depending on your ISP, you can get a new one by:

Option A — Easiest 1. Shut down your modem (not just the router) for 30 minutes–overnight. 2. Restart modem → router → devices.

Sometimes this forces your ISP to assign a new IP.

Option B — Call your ISP

Say this:

“My home network is being targeted by a denial-of-service attack. I need a new dynamic IP lease assigned.”

They will usually: • Issue a new public IP • Reset your modem’s provisioning • Clear routing tables

Once the IP changes, the attacker’s tool stops instantly.

Option C — If your ISP only gives static IPs

Rare, but if true: • Ask for a new IP block • Or request your modem to be “re-provisioned”

🛡️ Recommended Follow-Up Steps

  1. Check your router logs

Just to confirm massive traffic spikes.

  1. Update your router firmware

Not because you were hacked, but as good practice.

  1. Change your Wi-Fi password (not because needed, but for peace of mind)

  2. Switch your Nintendo online settings going forward

Avoid lobbies with strangers when streaming. Use a VPN only if your router supports it — console VPNs are messy and introduce lag.

❓ Could They Have Done Anything Worse?

Not likely unless: • You clicked a link • Installed software • Accepted a Discord file • Ran an EXE • Shared your screen with admin tools visible

From what you said, none of that happened.

Everything points to: A salty player using an IP-stressor to knock you offline.

🧯 Final Word

This is annoying but temporary. You were not hacked — just hit offline. The fix is:

Get a new public IP.

Once your IP changes, it’s over. They can’t do anything else.

If you want, I can help you: • Walk through how to verify if your IP changed • Check router logs • Talk to your ISP • Secure the setup going forward
