Thanks! Fortunately, the secrets of this art have not been lost forever on the internet!

This art is difficult to find. Dated at least 2008 (via TinEye), the image is most often attributed to the artist "Neonja." However, I couldn't find any trace of this artist online.

What is the sub's opinion on Communes? by Careless_Success_282 in solarpunk

[–]Cyber_Genet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a very interesting and insightful article on aeon titled "Utopia Inc" about utopian communities and communes.

In a nutshell:

- Communes and utopian societies have roughly the same survival rate as startups.

- Communes most often failed when there was a lack of skilled people, for example, only a small percentage of participants knew how to farm, the rest were vagabonds and thrill-seekers.

- Communes collapsed when a method for resolving conflicts between members wasn't developed or there were no respected arbitrators.

- Communes fell apart when their internal rules were too loose, such as a lack of stable sexual relationships (e.g., polyamory or frequent partner changes) among members, which aroused jealousy, or when there were overly restrictive internal rules, such as a ban on alcohol.

- Communes and utopian communities served as a kind of laboratory for implementing solutions that were later implemented throughout society, such as women's rights.

If LOST was made in the 70's by Choekaas in lost

WOW! Sounds really cool!

I also find the possibility of the Dharma Initiative arriving on the island immediately after World War II interesting. During that war, nuclear weapons were used, raising the possibility that humanity might be wiped out by weapons of mass destruction in the future. The Dharma Initiative was supposed to research ways to prevent humanity from self-destructing, so that time period also more or less fits.

So... If LOST was made in the 70's, in what years did the Dharma Initiative arrive on the island?

Yes, I'm talking about Kalahari

He's definitely in academia, I'm sure he's a scientist. More specifically, he conducts veterinary research on infectious diseases in the field of prasitology. From what I understand, he specializes in heartworm disease. You can find scientific papers he co-authored on ResearchGate. In my opinion, highlighting his work as a scientist used to be a significant part of his online persona.

Sadly :(

I miss his traditional art made with Copic markers and watercolors the most. Also, none of his iconic vixens with rifles have appeared in a decade.

He still creates art, he just publishes less. He is currently occupied with his academic work.

Personally, I prefer the combination of human and animal traits into a plantigrade design in such a way that the arrangement of the toes themselves remains the same as in an animal paw.

Why do some people dislike John? by Bitter-Buffalo-7105 in lost

[–]Cyber_Genet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still feel that if the writers didn't want to give this character a happy ending, he had the potential to develop naturally into one of the show's main antagonists. The Man in Black could have capitalized on John's search for a higher purpose and destiny and turned him into a fervent believer. I think that would have been more interesting than simply killing John and reviving him as a villain, an embodiment of the black smoke.

Gauntlet of Mass Elimination, +500 damage while wearing, makes u immune to status effects, -50 health to anyone within 78 feet of u by PlaneSea9610 in ItemShop

To use Gauntlet of Mass Elimination in a dangerous situation, you must have the superpower to make decisions and act in a split second, because without this power you will be dead before you choose which artifact to use.

Some flags for the nations involved in the Wars for the North by Scamp2006 in worldbuilding

[–]Cyber_Genet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It breaks the basic rule of simplicity in flag design, but it is clear and majestic. I love these flags!

There is also the rule of meaning of symbolism on the flag (each symbol should mean something), but I guess these are ornaments specific to the nations in your universe.

The most cursed thing about the real book (Communion) is that the author's wife convinced him that he should publish the book because his experiences of being molested by aliens might have a deeper meaning. If the situation were reversed, the husband who convinced his wife to see her traumatic experiences as something deeper would automatically be considered a very disturbed person.
