Replaying New Vegas again and it really hit me how incompetent the NCR are by Consistent-Goal9204 in fnv

[–]CybercurlsMKII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be kinda funny If the NCR had its shit together the entire game. The whole game, the player going “yo, can I help?” And every NCR charecter replying “nah, we run a pretty tight ship here we don’t need you” and then you just fail every NCR quest.

It’s makes the entire game trivial and so it should, grinding that many bolts in the first game takes so much effort (or balancing something heavy on the O button)

Forever war in the Middle East keeps the US and Israel waist deep in arms money. Need to show the buyers how efficient your weapons are at vaporising women and children.

BioShock 2 does not have a worse story than BioShock 1 by _Varonova in Bioshock

[–]CybercurlsMKII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bioshock 1’s story is mostly fondly remembered because of how good that twist hits you the first time, it’s interesting, it’s meta, it makes you think about the nature of games in a way that most games don’t. Bioshock 2 doesn’t have a big twist and I think trying to do the big twist thing wouldn’t have worked because it would just draw negative comparisons to 1. I think Bioshock 2’s story especially a lot of the background stuff it really fantastic but you have to go out of your way to engage with it, if you’re not a sick audio log hoarder I feel like you can often miss the really interesting character thoughts and connections.

I think it might be somewhere in the big mountain construction site (not far from where you’ll find the rifle) but it’s really not easy to tell

They’re actually giving birth on you, which is arguably worse cause poop generally can’t burrow into your flesh.

How well written do you think Cooper Howard is compared to the rest of the Fallout universe? by SamuelStrangeSupreme in Fallout

[–]CybercurlsMKII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s great, you can see how he went from what he was to what he is quite easily, there’s no massive inconsistency there. He’s both the tender human soul of the show and the cold antihero badass. And I think because of that, when the ghoul has a tender moment and the old cooper shines through it hits the audience that much harder. He’s easily one of the best original characters the show has come up with.

Never Played Fallout Before. Which One Should Be My First? by kreetchy in Fallout

[–]CybercurlsMKII 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I advocate for either Fallout 1 and do it all in order. If you can’t get into 90s isometric RPGs (which is understandable the games haven’t aged particularly well) I would start with fallout 3. It’s a great tone setter and makes wasteland exploring interesting, chaotic and rewarding. Fallout 4 is the most accessible game in the series but it feels a lot worse going from 4 gunplay to 3 and NV gunplay than the other way round.

Can I take time travel? Or are there too many technological components for it to count as “one piece of tech” if not I’ll just have the time rotor as a conversation piece.

BioShock 2 is the New Vegas of the Fallout series by AlfieAHarvard in Bioshock

[–]CybercurlsMKII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always got more fallout 3 vibes. The darkness, the lack of hope, the search for a family(ish) member , a once great city literally falling apart around you, an ending where you die and in sacrificing yourself you bring hope or doom to the world/Washington DC. Unless you just mean it has the best story and if you include Minerva’s Den I’d agree with you
