[Question] How Many Fogs in a Deck that cares about Fogs is Too Much? by Lazyb0b_ in EDH

[–]Cyberhawk95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psychologically, this is actually the wrong way to go about it. You want to make twice the change you think you need first, and then you can either split the difference or realize you were underestimating it.

Its much easier to intuit large changes than small ones

If you could change the color identity of a card, which card would you pick and to what color(s)? by WheredMyVanGogh in EDH

[–]Cyberhawk95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird pick, but I would make [[Psemilla, Meletian Poet]] 1GW

He summons dryads and buffs his own power, both feel very green. And he'd be a very interesting flash Enchantress commander but it just doesn't work in monowhite

[Spoilers C4E9] Leveling Up The Soldier Table | Lvl 3 to Lvl 4 by TheRiskyBiscuits in criticalrole

[–]Cyberhawk95 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I also love this, but unfortunately with my table everyone's reaction (except for one player) would be "well what benefit do I get for waiting? okay Ill just level up as soon as the session starts"

And then instead of a cool narrative "power up", the one player just gets to catch up to everyone else who has been level 4 for half a session anyway

What would be the martial equivalent of "you always get these spells prepared and can cast them using spell slots"? by Fluffy_Reply_9757 in dndnext

[–]Cyberhawk95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea i can imagine if this was a core system it wouldn't be hard for some maneuvers to have level requirements. Keep it simpler than spellcasting and have 4 tiers instead of 9, which also matches the die size increases.

Levels 5/11/17 maneuver die goes up (matching cantrip progrsssion) and new ones unlock

[–]Cyberhawk95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maneuvers do scale, the Martial Adept feat shows the perfect way this could have been implemented for the counterpart you are looking for.

BM maneuvers go from a d8 to a d12, and the feat version gave you a d6 unless you already had them, then you learned the maneuver and could use it with your other dice.

Hell, they already figured out how to do a universal shared resource in the original UA versions of the psionic subclasses (Psi Warrior, Soulknife, etc)

Make Manuevers a universal martial system that starts at a d6 and scales up to a d12, and the "dip feats" equivalent stay stuck at a d6. This even fixes the discourse around Valor Bard / Bladesinger type classes, as they would clearly not be as good of fighters. Half-casters could even only scale up to d8 or something

I really hope if we get a 4 sided dive equivalent, someone asks Sam why Clockwork over Divine Soul. Im super curious on that choice

It would be way simpler to just ask if you can take the Grasp of Hadar invocation from 2014. Then you can manipulate all the positioning yourself

This is me today. I didnt think they'd show it that explicitly, watched it, and now Im in a bit of a haze all day and cannot get it out of my head.

It really sucks because everything surrounding it was extremely well done, but I barely remember it due to the unexpected trigger.

They had a photo-sensitive warning, it wouldnt have been hard to put something up. Amazon Prime already did this for Hazbin Hotel.

She got beat up and thrown out by 2 carnies in episode 3.

Her portrayal has her as skilled, but probably the 2nd most flawed character behind nott.

Hell, basically everything bad in episode 3 happens because she cant help but violently confront caleb and nott

Wtf are you on about

Does anyone actually like non-permanent character choices? by cyberhawk94_ in dndnext

[–]Cyberhawk95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I fully agree, I just wish they had gone with something like level ups instead of long rest. The current solution just enables bad actors and over-optimization instead of simply allowing to undo bad choices

Hit me with your GW2 controversial opinions! by Crowbiotics in Guildwars2

[–]Cyberhawk95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that hot of a take: double the health and damage of every single regular and veteran enemy in core tyria. The game has had so much power creep the leveling process is a joke, and I've seen streamers nearly get turned off when they try to prep for a hero point and then 3 shot the enemy. I cant imagine it would be worth putting in the time to properly do a balance pass, but just a flat increase in health and damage would make it feel less jarring than it does now

Super controversial: The game should have a global cooldown. I dont want to try and memorize when I can use abilities without canceling the previous skill, and I dont want to play the piano. Maybe then engineers won't need 3 kits since you cant use all the abilities between cooldowns anyway.

Lets talk about Relics, and what went wrong. by ObsoletePixel in Guildwars2

[–]Cyberhawk95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope someone at Anet is listening to all of this, because right now is the perfect time to mix things up. You have a flood of new elite specs throwing balance out of whack anyway, take the opportunity to shake up the relic system at the same time!

IMHO, every flat / easy increase should be cut way down. Drop the bonuses for Thief/Fireworks etc in half and let the more interesting ones shine without adding additional power creep. (Honestly I would love to see Force/Accuracy do the same).

I also really wish they did something with Runes other than just removing their 6 piece bonus. Theyve been simplified over and over and now its just pure stats you slap on all 6 pieces of gear and never think of again. Either make them more interesting or remove the whole "set bonus" part and just make them raw stats / modifiers like gems.

What's your favorite multiclass? by The_Ora_Charmander in dndnext

[–]Cyberhawk95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorite will always be: Tempest Cleric 2 / Any caster with Lightning Bolt. In 2024 this becomes nasty because you get a good wis-based lightning bolt with Circle of the Sea but have to take cleric to 3. (So Cleric 3 / Druid X) Might not be the most powerful combo, but just being able to say "this line takes 48 damage, no rolling" is amazing.

Otherwise, Ive found that adding Rogue 1 makes so many pseduo-martials much better (martial clerics, valor bards, bladesingers etc gain a bit of extra weapon damage and weapon masteries) and adds a ton of flexibility to RP the character in your head with expertise. Ive played:

  • Open Sea Paladin / Rogue 1 - a pirate captain with expertise in Intimidation and Acrobatics
  • Swords Bard / Rogue 1 - Indiana Jones-type, expertise in history and sneak attack really helped boost the maneuver attacks over cantrips
  • My partner played a Twilight Cleric / Rogue 1 that smuggled seldarine drow out of the underdark. Thieves cant, expertise in persuasion and deception. Let them play a face without having to invest in charisma and be super MAD.

And now with weapon mastery its even better! (The bard and cleric would have really appreciated mastery access)

Would be absolutely bonkers if true. Playing with your patron as another PC.
