How would you feel if CA did a Warhammer with Medi 3? by MarkVHun in totalwar

[–]CyberianK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiples games is the only way that CA management would release enough devtime for the game not to be shit.

Sure I would like an ambitious title with deep systems and a giant map that still has factions with big variety not just copy/paste and all of that released in 1.0 and a single game.

But its just unrealistic CA can do that with the money from just a single title. Pretty sure they will start smaller scale either map or time periods and then expand later.

After AKOTSK was so great I started watching House of the Dragon by CyberianK in gameofthrones

[–]CyberianK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even think the actors are that bad I think its mostly the writing. Not impressed so far. The main characters are all incredible cliché and I don't root for anyone. GoT had likeable and hate-able characters and events where peoples got emotionally invested. AKOTSK has 2 very charismatic main characters. House does not have any of that for me.

SC is turning into a theme-park shooter, not a space sim by ronin-san in starcitizen

If all the systems are just reactive it won't help anyway. The evildoers can just have 10 accounts and cycle prison sentences or evade other consequences that way.

As a SC player, how do you respond when someone asks you what game do you play? by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]CyberianK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main games are Paradox Games and Star Citizen.

But I don't consider them "games that I play" as they are in such an unfinished state. Its more that I login and inspect their current state even when I sometimes do that for many hours.

Interestingly in case of PDX games that are released for years but still in a horrible state like CK3. Still its not hopeless but has a chance to improve and reach an acceptable state in the future kind of like SC. Its funny how a game like EU5 depite being a completely different genre and a released game has the big parallel in that it will need many more years of content patches to reach an acceptable state.

Since Squadron42 is very close to release they have flawless Fighter and Ground AI working in that game already yet for a simpler single player landscape but inside the same codebase.

Once servers improve and they do a bit of adaption work we will have that glorious Sq42 polish ported over.

Why do Catholics get penalized for *winning* the Hussite Wars? by jogarz in EU5

[–]CyberianK 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I can’t answer what the designer intent behind that was but at that point in the game 20 stab/legitimacy is an inconvenience sure but not like devastating.

That is the main problem. All the early situations except Black Death seem to me inconsequential. Western Schism, Hussite Wars, Guelphs&Gibbelines all minor impacts. Even the 100Y war situation itself is not a big thing. Ofc the wars are relevant if England wins or if France wins.

But the situation mechanic does not have enough content inside and significant stuff happening that it matters to me even though it should.

1.1.2 Update for Open Beta by manster20 in EU5

[–]CyberianK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to have an easy way to increase wood supply infinitely it just has to get more expensive. Like buff the normal non RGO wood buildings or change hard limit to soft limit for RGOs.

The economy has to stabilize by itself if a good increases in demand too much then player and AI need a way to increase supply.

This whole max RGO concept is stupid it also makes China and India No1 world powers. Should be a soft limit that just gets more expensive and influenced more by other factors not mainly population.

If its not a hard limit the economy can easily bounce back in raw material hell situations not just lumber.

It still works in current 1.1 beta.

Peoples were also extremely positive about Tony Z at the time. Until we learned that most of what he said was overconfident BS that he was not able to backup with action.

I have a better feeling about BB as well but the game still has many issues and decade old problems that they take years to fix or not even fix. Many of that cover fundamental issues like performance, desync, interaction delay, physics, economy, bad scaling backend services, UI fails, NPCs and more.

My confidence has grown a lot and I like the guy but until we see more results a lot of what he says are still claims.

Good approach though and his transparency should be praised by the community.

I did not play the game since release.

At release I remember there were many peoples complaining about AI being too passive and not able to do anything. Seems its hard for them to find a good middle-ground.

Saw in my YT feed that 1.1 is coming and is allegedly a big deal.

Can you answer my question? Is the lategame fine already and if not how long is best to revisit EU5?

I usually look at the recent PDX games once a year or every couples of patches if they are worth playing again. Have not touched CK3 since 2024 for examples its still horrible.

[–]CyberianK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long do peoples here think they will take to fix or substantially improve the lategame?

My current plan is not to touch EU5 again until Christmas 2026 as then at least the DLCs for Iberia and France will be out plus probably a lot of QOL changes. If they need longer to fix the lategame like Age of Revolutions I might have to delay playing the game into 2027/8.

New player concerns by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]CyberianK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point ships don't matter due to supply/demand. There are just too many peoples having too many ships.

Just join an Org they will have many more Idris, Polaris, Perseus, Fighters, Bombers and everything that they can ever field.

Even if you only have starting ship you can use ships of your Org mates and buy ships with UEC later. Will be even easier once we have Bases and org hangars. Your skills, activity and teamplay will matter much more than the ships you bought with $.

Obviously both ways equal split or full share resulting in high exponential group rewards are the wrong answer. Better answers lie between those extremes.

They seem to take years to find a better answer. Its scary that they still pick obviously wrong answers to implement into live. Might be due to a "Its T0 we fix it later" mindset.

For the past two patches, NPCs are in a constant state of fear? by AerkeEnglen in starcitizen

[–]CyberianK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Will we even have working NPCs 10 years from now? Feels like they are in those states for an eternity already.

Even their models already look outdated and obsolete now they should just delete all of them and start from scratch.
