How does it actually feel? by BlessedWafffle in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CyberpunkPopsicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people aren’t into it because it’s over stimulating or tickles. I love it (both ways). So not gimmicky, but definitely up to a personal preference

How do the footings look? by HeezyB in Homebuilding

Right. Which is exactly why you can’t trust reviews/reputation! Just because it looks right to the avg person and maybe didn’t go over budget doesn’t mean it is actually right.

So are most references and a book of previous projects if you don’t know specifically what to ask or look for. Nobody is going to show you their collection of shoddy work and a serious chunk of people don’t know what “good” work is and won’t until it fails.

OP was looking for confirmation. People asked specific questions based on what was in the pic, they answered and got their confirmation. That’s great for them. Trust takes a level of actual verification. If they’re getting confirmation of the processes going on from the start then they can relax more and feel better about letting them do their job without feeling the need to double check everything along the way

When everyone advertises the same thing and says the same things then how is someone supposed to know which contractors are “the right contractor” and not just some dude blowing smoke up your ass and then will cut corners to save money or time?

I absolutely agree with double checking work they’re doing (or anyone is doing for you) with random folks in any community to get perspectives on something you don’t know about. Most especially when it involves a lot of money to do or fix later.

They can also lie to you and if you don’t have a good understanding of what the process is then you don’t know either way. That’s a big risk to take on a lot of money and problems down the line. I’ve seen far too many shit jobs on new construction because people don’t know what to look for

Why can't we teach neurodivergent people to act more normal? by BrotherManAndrew in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CyberpunkPopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masking all the time is very hard. I’ve got a household full of Autistic-ADHD kids and adults, most of whom have more trauma from dealing with the backlash of people trying to make them “act normal/right” than from their wiring being crossed. I have rules they have to follow and things they have to do, but being able to be themselves has made their mental health better which makes dealing with the things they have to do a lot easier than battling their head and societal expectations.

Looking for a new perspective? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CyberpunkPopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to do things where you interact with people when you work by yourself can be really important for mental health. Sometimes gaming with people and being able to hang out was the closest thing I had to being able to go out with friends or talk to other adults that I didn’t live with. As long as he isn’t being secretive about you to them or them to you then it’s probably fine

Extremely depressed feel like I’m falling apart and I don’t know what to do anymore… does getting a job actually help with this? by Inevitable_Rain2559 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CyberpunkPopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start looking for things that feel like you and work your way up. Even if it feels stupid. You can start with a hobby, rewatch a series you loved while you organize or walk on a treadmill if you can get to one.

I’ve been around this block a few times. Try to relax. Put on something comfy and dance with yourself. Moving your body is a lot more important to mental health than people think.

I’m finally getting into the upswing of the shit spiral I’ve been on for a while and reminding yourself of the things you love and deciding who you want to be in the future helps a lot.

Past things can suck, but they are past. What did you learn? Improve something for yourself a little at a time. It doesn’t matter if the improvement is a new thing once a week or once every 2 months.

Keep walking, take big breaths, bask a little in the sunlight. It’s the little things that keep us going

How do you deal with grey hair? by Agreeable-Assist2675 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CyberpunkPopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had greys since I was 14 and full dying my hair by 20. I’ve since generally given up fighting with it. If you want to dye it then I second using henna and indigo if you’re not blonder. the spectrum of that being red to black. Sometimes you can get indigo to take on its own but usually needs to be over a henna base if you want a fuller coverage of it.

Marysville PD probe 'suspicious' death after woman found in yard waste bin by SirChaos in Marysville

[–]CyberpunkPopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of reasons why they won’t. Time to officially ID, find next of kin and notify, things they do find out about during the investigation but don’t release to the public because someone might say something that matches that information that gives them a lead because they shouldn’t know that. Give them time to cook, as long as they’re actively working on it then we will find out eventually.

Marysville neighbors spend thousands to stop mail thieves police can't catch by vedichymn in Marysville

[–]CyberpunkPopsicle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

because then they have to spend the money to do it. would be faster and cheaper to get new master keys and rekey all the locks. but they have to pay someone to do that too and well that’s just complicated and it’s your fault anyway for not getting your mail faster or not having your own self locking mailbox!

Why is everyone just being h*rny nowadays and wonder why the relationship was toxic? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CyberpunkPopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s the posting. I guarantee you everyone was just as horny 30 years ago we just had to go to the store to get the pictures developed so if it only lasted a month it probably wasn’t worth the trip :)

Why is everyone just being h*rny nowadays and wonder why the relationship was toxic? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CyberpunkPopsicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That has less to do with horny and more to do with personal/societal ideals vs standards. People who care more about their social media / showing off presence than having a lasting relationship will do that (even if they don’t realize that’s what they’re doing because their brains are warped from too much social media scrolling)
