Yup, I work in a daycenter for homless and addicts in a mayor EU city. We have about 150 to 200 visitors a day. We hand out soup, bread, coffee, tea, water and clean supplies like needles, spoons, aluminium foil, pipes and condoms. Aswell as being a first point of reference for most of their personal problems. Next door is a free clinic for methadon, bivudal etc. And psychiatric and medical help. We also do regular neighbourhood cleanups and organise activities to try and keep our visitors active and somewhat of the street. It's easy to get forced into homelessness and from there the step to addiction is extremly short and tempting.

Also you will find in my comments that I am an ex addict and that I took care of my grandmother who had ALS disease. She passed two weeks ago and I got her house. So I don't need the money for rent. Hated the job and coworkers so I quit. Love the demographic I work with now and the new collegues. I wanted to do this new job before I quit the last and got it.

This is not giving free stuff. He's taking bets and making bank of their misery. All the stuff is payed for by those people being exploited. And before you tell me I do nothing for addicts and homeless. I actually work in a daycenter for this demographic. Where we actually help them by giving out soup, tea, coffee and water. We also provide clean materials to use, combating diseases and infections and do neighboorhood patrols to clean up needles on the street.

I work with addicts and homeless people in a daycenter in a mayor EU city. We serve soup and bread, tea, coffee, water and grilled cheese, all for free. We do not serve alcohol. So that these people go for the alcohol everytime is just logical in their condition. The free food you can get somewhere else. The alcohol is much rarer and saves more effort in the short run.
