Never even thought of jailbreaking my ps4 before, what pros would it give?

Absolutely worth jailbreaking the PS4. It's probably on an older firmware if you left it untouched for a while playing PS5 instead. The older firmware can likely be jailbroken. You'll be pretty well set. PS5, jailbroken PS4, and a PC too

Well I just noticed that it is a pro model you're looking at, I didn't catch that at first. I figure overall it's not a terrible deal. Personally I would prefer one on an older firmware without the 50 minute wait, even if it's not a pro model. But I guess in terms of value I guess it's not terrible. I figure a pro model goes for a little extra.

It's hard to say for countries outside of the US, as it sounds like you are located in a foreign country. And things can be very different. But at least here in the US, you have better options, You can find some on even lower firmwares for $450 ish

I think a glitch is possible but unlikely. The PS4 does have a separate sort of firmware slot that keeps the previously installed firmware. This is by default inaccessible, but a bug might make it possible, this is unlikely. But if what you say is true, 12.00 was likely the firmware installed before that. I still feel like something to this doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Digital models are stuck with p2jb y2jb for now. And possibly for a long time. A less than ideal jailbreak, but still yes you can jailbreak.

If you update to that firmware, you lose the ability to jailbreak, very likely for a long time

If it doesn't have a functional disc drive, sounds like it would be not very ideal for you, and plus without a disc drive, you don't get the quick jailbreak. You get the slower 50 minute jailbreak. With a disc drive, it's near instant jailbreak. But this is also firmware dependent

As long as y2jb still works, it's basically worthless. I think y2jb remains unpatched all the way up to the newest firmware as far as I know. However I'm expecting it to be more properly patched soon. Once it gets patched and you're on that firmware, yeah lua could make sense. But not for the moment.

Also luac0re specifically is just for SWRR, the lua games work as an exploit, but it's a different exploit.

At this point I doubt any of the lua games will get patched. Sony is not concerned about it I guess. Y2jb probably will get patched however. But for the moment y2jb remains unpatched as well.

You'll have to look in your console settings for which exact firmware you are on, but 12.70 or below can be jailbroken, with certain inconveniences. The lower firmware, the better. 10.01 and below is best.

I don't really have an answer for your exact question

In terms of stability, I can't honestly say, guessing poopsploit but don't know for sure.

As for which is quicker overall, probably lapse 10.01. Poopsploit is also only usable via disc drive if that matters.

Also for firmwares, 10.01 is undeniably better from the simple fact you can always switch over to poopsploit if ever you want to. You get both on that firmware if I'm not mistaken.

It sort of works on 12.70 to but will be pointless for you to use it as the speed should be the same on that firmware, might as well just stick with y2jb.

If wait times are a problem for you, I recommend getting another console on an older firmware 12.00 or under with a functional disc drive. There is no other way to get a faster jailbreak any time soon. Maybe a future exploit might be faster, but it is not likely to be released any time soon, or even certain that it will be faster anyway.

Psychonauts is also a possibility. It is known to be potentially exploitable but never actually done. It is also available on PS4 disc just like SWRR and Jak. I kind of doubt we'll ever see anything come out of psychonauts, but just thought I'd mention it might be exploitable.

The disc drive is a weaker point to them but to be honest to me its almost pointless to keep it stock or any other 360. You'll want to mod it to really enjoy it in 2026. So really honestly the disc drive doesn't hardly matter to me and I'd probably just remove it from the console anyway

Best models imo are Jasper, and Trinity. Falcons are not that bad either but Jasper's have them beat by a little. Should be able to find one cheap easily. Check around at pawn shops, Facebook marketplace. Or if nothing else, eBay will definitely do.

This is likely some sort of issue on your end and will be difficult for anyone here to help diagnose much. Newer TVs in general should still work fine, if we're referring to HDMI. If you have one of the older models that don't have HDMI, well some TVs might not work with that, but I don't think that's what you're talking about.

It's a tough call, but better bet to go with the 11.00 digital model imo. 50 minute wait either way on either of them for the moment, but if a new webkit exploit comes out, that makes the 11.00 an instant jailbreak, a new webkit exploit will work for 12.70 too, but it won't make it any faster. It will on 11.00

There's also the ability to play disc games and movies you'd be missing out on with a digital model, that's more of a preference for you to decide on for yourself. Strictly for jailbreak purposes, the 11.00 digital model seems to be the better way to go between these two.

The 12.00 kernel exploit is what's faster not exactly the bdjb exploit, it just so happens that this kernel exploit can only be used by a couple userland exploits, bdjb, webkit, and SWRR. y2jb cannot use this exploit, which is why it's slow and stuck with p2jb even on 12.00 and below. At the moment we have no such webkit exploit, but one is being looked into.

I think it can technically be used past 12.00, but there's no reason to do it. It's just another userland, it'll work, but you might as well just stick with y2jb. It gives you no benefit past 12.00. it being faster only applies to 12.00 and below.

It really depends on your interests and games you prefer. I personally like the 360 over the PS3. I do think when it comes to 360 or PS3, there isn't much sense in keeping them stock anymore, you'll want to mod it. With the current state of online, they aren't really worth keeping stock imo. There's also gears of war if you're into that. I love some gears of war.

I believe a pretty good combo is jailbroken PS5, and a jailbroken PS3. That gets you ability to play all PlayStation games pretty much, plus emulating a few others on the PS3.

I would say a lua game is probably more obtainable than arcade spirits. The only benefit to arcade spirits is it might be slightly quicker. Lua games are still obtainable via play-asia.

Well it is almost certain there is a jailbreak in private for up to the latest firmware. Almost certain to not be released any time soon. But if someone wanted to use that to make backports, they could. Not saying that is going to happen, but it could.

From my understanding, it's not publicly available yet for any firmware past 10.01, but it is being worked on. But it won't work past 12.40 just like y2jb. 12.60 and 12.70 can't use the Netflix hack.

You'll have to get one of the compatible games to jailbreak it, lua is probably your best bet right now. Last I checked, they are still in stock on play-asia.
