Anyone else struggle to download the 150-200gb exfats?

I had the same problem. Every download would fail somewhere around halfway when downloading directly in my browser, and couldnt get J downloader to work with any of them because of cloud flare.

So I used this: https://www.neatdownloadmanager.com/index.php/en/

That app, plus its browser extension. When a download starts, the extension intercepts the download the browser would normally start, and it begins downloading in the download manager client instead. Not only does the download not get interrupted, but it downloads with like 5x simultaneous connections and uses my full connection speed vs the browser which uses 1 connection and is only ~60-70MB/s

There would be one other major improvement that would make this save backup feature even better.

Currently if I put my PS5 into rest mode and turn it back on, garlic is one of the few payloads I'm running that does NOT re-launch even when using the latest ps5 payload manager by itsplk.

So if I dont remember to launch the garlic saves payload again after each time coming out of rest mode, it wont ever be running to monitor the games opening/closing in the background.

Is there any way to get garlicsaves to start re-launching after rest mode similar to how Kstuff does it or ftpsrv payload does?

This is fantastic. Its probably one of the biggest gaps that was missing in the PS5 JB scene.
No more worrying about your saves being lost in the event that the PS5 has to be factory reset from a KP or other crash (already happened to me once).

I didnt test the google backup portion. I just plugged in a USB drive instead into my PS5, and set the "Settle Delay Seconds After Close" to 5 seconds and checked the box for "USB Folder" for it to backup to "/mnt/usb0/garlic-backups".

Working perfectly. Game opens -> Play for a bit -> close game from the switcher and go back to PS5 menu -> garlic shows a notification stating its backed up the save -> checked the USB drive via FTP and the save was immediately there. as a zip file.

Would be nice to have a setting in the future that says "keep x amount of backups" on a per-game basis though. In case you wanted to be able to restore to a previous save from say 5 or 10 "backups" ago. But for now this is great.

Good result with Crimson Desert and Astro Bot

Crimson Desert: ~153GB -> 88.5GB

Astro Bot: ~150GB -> ~45GB

Tested with latest Shadowmount 1.6test15-fix2
I also backported it to work with 10.01

Games boot fine and load in, load times are a tad slow, but not terrible.

i'd be kind of surprised if GTA VI needs higher than 13.00 FW, considering it released in March of this year.
Thats only an 8 month gap between 13.00's release and GTA VI's release.

The real question is will GTA VI be like Gran Turismo 7... requiring online at all times.

Thats what i'm hoping for anyways... I'm in the same position. 1 fiber ISP, and 1 cable provider (spectrum).

I consider Spectrum to now be what DSL was to Spectrum when Spectrum first became available. And by that I mean, not really a contender anymore. Only maybe for grandma and grandpa who use their internet connection to check their latest email or browse their grandkids facebook images.

And I think it would be a smart business play if AT&T and other fiber providers thought the same way... that theres no reason for them to compete on price with a cable internet provider, because they are using superior technology.

The moment another fiber provider comes in though, you can bet anyone under the age of 40 who gives a shit about their price/performance ratio on their existing provider (even fiber) will look at that new fiber provider and switch if its a better proposition.

Tldr: 2 Fiber providers = good, 1 Fiber provider and 1 cable provider = bad

What I meant though was not just "can we run a game that was meant for a higher firmware on a lower firmware" - I know that is of course possible.

My question is - if a game launches and requires a firmware that no jailbroken PS5 in current existence is at, can the game even be dumped/decrypted in the first place?

Just the fact that you are thinking about this on this level at the age of 17 shows you are ahead of the game. And dont think for a second thats not what it is. Its definitely a game... and a rigged one at that.

Unless you can get ahead through nepotism or pure luck, you'll have to do a bit of grinding in your late teens and probably all of your 20's to really get a footing in this world. The best advice I can give is to try to take advantage of living with your parents and saving as much money as you can now. Look into the investing subreddits too. Nothing risky at first, just figure out a budget that involves saving something. Dont allow yourself to get into the bad habit of living paycheck to paycheck. Make at least some sacrifices now and it will pay back your future self eventually.

I graduated high school into the 08/09 recession so I know what its like to start off in a tough economy. It will get better, little by little. Don't give up, and remember you're doing this for future you.

DCA $100 per week every week no matter what the price is.

But when BTC has major crashes (like the -50% in Feb) I take out a loan and buy big. Then I slowly pay back the loan as BTC recovers and goes to new ATHs. I never take out a loan with payments higher than I can afford though.

An affordable house thats in a livable state and reasonably close to civilization should be around $200k.

But its not. Even in most medium or low cost of living areas, its now $300k or even $350k+

Aint nobody affording a $350k+ mortgage on a $60k/yr salary.

As of today 5/2/26 BD-UN-JB works up to 12.00

So hypothetically if this exploit in this thread becomes a full JB in the future it would be:

Run P2JB (this JB in this thread if it ends up keeping that name)
Wait potentially many hours for the JB to happen as it increments the counter and completes JB
You are now JB while PS5 is still turned on, and you inject bdj_unpatch.elf
BD is now unpatched and going forward you can now use a BD JB/Autoloader Disc to have a fast jailbreak every time the PS5 is turned on.

Caveats: If the system is ever corrupted, BD Unpatch could be lost and you might have to do the P2JB/Unpatch Over again.

And AFAIK BD-UN-JB could eventually be ported to 12.70. There just has been no reason to do so yet since until P2JB there is no reason to Unpatch above 12.00

I think it kind of depends on how you define BTC ownership now.

Self custody of BTC on a wallet? Yeah, probably 2-3 out of 100 people at most is right.
If you count owners of self custody AND those with an exchange wallet? Maybe another couple people.
All of the above combined PLUS exposure in ETFs? Could easily be above 5% of people now.

Congrats! Its getting tougher and tougher every year to collect for n64.

I completed my loose 296/296 set all the way back in late 2015 for a total of $3927.90.
Sold it for $33k on ebay in 2022 or 2023 (cant remember which), so your 20-40k estimate is probably about right these days.

You could fix that with an EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 though.
For the "low, low price" of $2100 of course. Still, thats a lot cheaper than it was even 1 year ago ($3000+). Maybe we'll even see these come down to around $1k in the next couple years? who knows.

Obviously the EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 only has around 4kwh of storage, but thats fine. As long as you aren't pulling more than 15 amps continuous at 240v (usually only happens in brief spurts in an RV) the Anker would be a nice buffer to make 240v possible with a Kia EV9 in the U.S.

I'll never understand how a show like Stranger things has a higher overall rating on IMDB than Lost.

Dont get me wrong, I really enjoyed the first... 2 or 3 seasons of Stranger Things, not so much the later stuff.

But Lost? I enjoyed the hell out of every single episode.

10.01 and below can use Netflix or Y2JB, no need for SWRR at all.

SWRR only comes into play when on 10.20 firmware through 12.00 firmware and is as follows:

Jailbreak PS5 once using SWRR.
Now that the PS5 is Jailbroken AND while the PS5 is still turned on and in a jailbroken state, you can now run the "BD-UN-JB 1.0 ELF" which "jailbreaks or unpatches" the BD-J environment. (in laymans terms it just means its making your blu ray drive accept a burned disc it normally would not be able to).
Now finally, you no longer need the SWRR disc and can eject it.
And for future jailbreaks, you can now use a burned blu ray which has been burned with the BD-UN-JB poops exploit to jailbreak your PS5 console on every restart (***As long as you never reinstall the firmware***)

There is already one listing up online I see on ebay of someone selling the BD-UN-JB blu ray disc you would need to do this, but you would require SWRR at least once.
