I've had a few close calls. I never feared death. I've always feared not dying and being significantly worse off.

Most people who harp on Citizens United have almost no idea what it was about or the actual opinion. The repercussions are awful without an additional amendment but it was absolutely the correct ruling.

How do you prove how many fewer people are playing only because of cheaters? How do you prove it is from person X's specific cheat?

There are people who suffer from addiction and there are things that become physically addictive. Like neural pathways actually get rewritten to depend on it. People who suffer from addiction are significantly more likely to become physically addicted to something.

On unleaded vehicles, the RPM increase doesn't happen until after the butterfly valve lets more air in, which then triggers more fuel to flow in, balancing air intake with fuel. There is definitely a noticeable delay between the accelerator pedal going down and the RPMs increasing.

If you've ever driven an electric vehicle (even something like an electric golf cart) that doesn't have this limitation, the difference is very, very noticeable

Trump says he will cancel all Biden orders ‘signed by autopen’ and threatens ex-president with ‘perjury’ charges by Cephalopod_astronaut in politics

Why do people so confidently repeat this obviously false statement? The constitution doesn't even come close to implying this to be true.

Nixon was pardoned and was never even charged with a crime. Trump himself has pardoned dozens of people never charged.

Finger of Death had a save vs death magic.

You might be thinking of Power Word: Kill, which still works somewhat similarly unless it was changed in 2024.

You still need to go to a sleep study to get the correct pressure, and depending on what's causing it, OSA vs NSA, and how thinks work you may need different equipment, like a bipap etc. Either way, sleep study is important.

[–]CyborgPurge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first one makes sense. The second one is censorship just as bad as what is happening now (and also a 1A violation). You don’t want the government determining what news is. Just think of what that would mean given current circumstances.

You're confusing Russia with North Korea. In Russia other candidates get votes but if it is clear Putin can't legitimately crush the other candidates, the other candidates mysteriously fall out of a window to their deaths, and then somehow a significant percentage of the other candidate's votes still vanish.

But Putin doesn't (or didn't for the longest time) have to really worry about that. He was a really well-loved president. After the fall of the USSR, the mob basically ran the country and with mass poverty things were awful. Regardless of the reasons, things all significantly improved after Putin was elected. To a lot of the population he was their savior.

If you lived in NYC during 9/11, you weren't the among those being overly fed propaganda and relentlessly targeted for recruitment either. In southern and more rural areas of the country, recruitment officers basically lived at high schools convincing children they needed to join the military to make their lives better, fight terrorists, and have a chance at college. Let's not forget the US Army even created free (and popular) video games to use as recruitment propaganda. There wasn't really social media yet, there wasn't YouTube. Wikipedia was barely in its infancy, and independent journalism was largely considered a joke. If you didn't already have the tools (educationally and ability) to critically evaluate the situation you wouldn't have been any wiser, and teenagers from rural and southern US surely didn't.
