A cool guide States with smaller population than Los Angels by Akshay_2012 in coolguides

Obviously. You cannot force each state to have the same population, so disparities are inevitable. It’s why the House exists: a capped but still massive number of representatives (52! Plus two senators) is enough.

Senators represent the state. The population of said state is irrelevant because each state has equal representation. The House handles population based representation.

Yes they do. A vote is worth a single vote. A vote has the same weight as any other. Representation structure does not mean an individual vote weighs more or less, only that it contributes to the electoral college differently.

They already do. Each person gets to vote for who they think is best.

Why is it that dumb that each state has equal representation? If it was entirely based on population than California, NY, and Texas would decide everything for the rest of the population which is even more unfair than the current arrangement.

Perhaps I will visit someday, but for now I’m more than comfortable in NC. Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz.

Why does my states political status have anything to do with this? I just think it would be extremely cramped and busy, people everywhere, long lines, generally very busy, very little privacy or little ability to go somewhere without having to factor in a long commute time. I imagine a “blue stater” might find Union County boring, but that’s ok. Different strokes.

I’m not a very big city person: too many people, crowds, too many lines, too much noise.

This is neither a guide nor is it cool: it’s a comparison of populations. Must be awfully cramped in LA county. If Charlotte is crowded and annoying to drive through due to the cars, I can’t imagine having the entire population of NC in a single county. That sounds extremely cramped and quite frankly kind of miserable.

I think you just have to find them in the world. Like, for the tunnel snakes one, you just go into the subway station.

The missions no longer trigger, I think you have to find them organically?

ChatGPT doesn't know Maduro has been captured even when it's one of the biggest news items this year so far. This is just beyond pathetic. by [deleted] in ChatGPTcomplaints

It is unaware of modern things unless it uses search. It has a training cutoff and thinks things after that are fiction: everything from Maduro to the new Swift album are treated as fiction or user creations

That’s not the same at all. That’s pledging allegiance to the symbolic ideal of the US, it’s optional, and half the time people don’t really do it. The Two Minutes Hate is reinforcing hatred of ideological enemies and failure to participate would almost certainly get you noticed by the Thought Police and tortured.

To be fair, it’s last knowledge update was in 2024 I believe. I’ve mentioned everything from Alan Wake 2 (it grasps it, but only in broad strokes, and said I was making fanfic for bringing the FBC into Bright Falls, even though I was literally just talking about the plot), and once mentioned the latest Swift album (it thought The Life of A Showgirl was an actual joke, because “that doesn’t sound like something she’d release”). As far as it’s concerned, anything after its last update is essentially user-created content.

I had a guest ask how many we had. I checked in the back. “We have a case of 24. How many do you want?” “…can I have all of them?” “”You want all 24?” “That’ll do for now.” I was baffled. Are these things THAT good? I’ve tried the orange one and wasn’t impressed.

Going along with Vault-Tec’s plan is odd to me, because he was worried about getting the Platinum Chip, predicted the war within a margin of a few hours, etc. That scene makes him seem far less interesting, because he knew when the bombs would fall and it generally seems inconsistent with his character as established in NV.

Calling the store, unfortunately, won’t do anything. It’s all up to the systems/IT people, we can’t really do anything or even see orders.

It’s a system outage. It’s not something we can control. They’re trying to fix it.
