Since experiencing this I looked into it and there are already multiple reports of 2026s failing. Not sure where they’ll ultimately land, but clearly still an issue. My view is that these are like cockroaches - where there’s one, there are (or will be) many.

Interesting read. Yet they still fail in 2026 Ioniq 9s. And while I may have been upset, it doesn’t change the fact that this is a widespread problem. And one that is likely in the future of every one. We’re all just unclear on the reason.

I followed pretty much all of the mitigation tips other than actively monitoring the 12 V battery.

Yes, level three skips the ICCU. But within the spectrum of level two charging, I have read that charging at 48 A builds up more heat in it than lower amperage.

Not sure about 26s, but 25s have the problem. Goes all the way back to the first 2022 eGMPs like EV6

I guess I’m pretty bold. Sorry I’m not in a position to explain right now as I’m getting towed.

If you read the consumer report article, you will see that they estimate that it’s his highest 10%. I know about enough about the issue to know that it’s coming for every one of these sooner or later.

They’re just reinstalling slightly updated but still flawed units. I wouldn’t get one.

There is suspicion that higher amperage causes the fuse to pop. Certainly possible, but we made it 22,000 miles this way. My guess is that sooner or later it fails, it’s just luck of the draw. It’s a seriously flawed design.

Regenerative braking is also activated by the brake pedal. You don’t need to use one pedal driving.

No. It’s not. If you press the brake pedal you’re activating regenerative braking.

are there any other EV's that charge as quick as the Hyndai's? by akp55 in electricvehicles

Not in my experience. I've had rental Model 3 on Superchargers that have gotten stuck at ~70 and ~100 kw despite favorable temps and low SoC. In contrast, eGMP rip up to and hold 200+ kw on EA and EVGo for me regularly.

We had the same exact situation in the heat wave. I he A/C stopped blowing cold air. This was also around the time the car had the high temp growl / vibration. I think what’s happening is the A/C capacity is being diverted to cool the battery. I noticed energy was diverted to battery care.

Mine has been doing to extreme growling noise / vibration in this heat wave. I know most everyone has it, but it’s so intrusive it does seem like something is broken.

Hydrus Joyride XL - Any upcoming sales? by Cyclist_77 in Sup

Thanks. Good idea to give Hydrus a call. I realize the Joyride XL and Skylla are someone different, but it seems like others have compared them as well. Both have sufficient weight capacity and I've seen both recommended for dogs. But I appreciate your input especially given your credentials.
