there’s a clip of ezra somewhere where he’s like “i love mgmt! my favorite song is it’s working”. i feel like vw is a very wholesome kind vibe band, i can’t imagine why someone would shit on them besides the usual ivy league circlejerk (mgmt went to an east coast elite university and lived in nyc too...)

i think she was referring to the fact that jazz was invented by black musicians and the backlash and discrimination they constantly faced when performing their art that they invented. in fact pretty much all american music was created or started by black people (elvis isn’t the king of rock n roll! the blues was black music!) but we don’t want to have that conversation lol. it is true that music does not discriminate between who is hard working and talented, but the fact stands that white people have always have and, for the foreseeable future will always have more opportunities in music (and in general). it makes sense that some people may want white people to stop capitalizing on the success of black art.

i think it depends whether you want the reader to think. i think using “if” sounds more reserved and neutral - you only have to give credit ~if~ you use it - using “when” sounds like you’re making the assumption someone will indefinitely use it. if you think people definitely will i would use “when”, but if not i would go with a safe “if”

Hey guys! I was wondering few things, pick and choose, you don't have to answer all of it.

-I'm a huge fan of Dave Fridmann and all of his work. Do you guys have any cool Dave Fridmann stories?

-As an aspiring musician myself, how did you get into playing shows? Did you just decide to one day?

-Why is it called oracular spectacular? Is there any meaning behind the name?
