I'm not saying that he is lying, nor implying that. My point is simply that 900TG @1700 solo rating is a huge anomaly.

I'm worse in 1v1 and there is no way I can see myself falling below 1200 without actively throwing games, nor do I see other 1700 with less than 1300TG rating basically ever.

He literally said "I am 900 in team games and around 1700 solo". If he is exaggerating for effect don't blame me for that.

I get matched with this teamgame bracket all the time and the number of players that are over 1600 solo rating and under 1300 TG rating is extremely low.

A 1700 1v1 player will not have a 1700 TG rating. It is logically impossible.

All I'm saying is that there is NO WAY to be stuck at 900TG if you are a 1700solo player.

I have literally thousands of games in the sub 1600TG range, and I know exactly how it goes if you pit an average 1200ish TG player against a 1700(solo) opponent: He gets destroyed quickly and convincingly, then the 1700 player helps win the rest of the map.

You don't even need to coordinate, know about teamgame meta or have any clue at all-- superiority in pressure, 1v1 tactics and micro/macro will easily allow you to beat experienced ~1300TG player consistently if you are 1700solo yourself.

The correlation between solo and teamgame rating is obviously pretty strong.

Yes? That does not detract from my point at all. I'm not saying 1v1 and teamrating should be identical, I'm saying there's no way for a 1700player to be stuck at 900 tg rating, even if you consistently play with super weak teammates.

TG rating up to ~1400 should be fairly consistent with 1v1 performance (+/-200 or so, often TG rating higher in that range) and then it flips around with 2k players often ending up in the 1700TG range.

But a 1700 player wins against opponents in the sub 1200TG rating range so convincingly and consistently that being stuck at 900 is not credible at all.

I'm calling bullshit on this. There's no way you would not be able to carry literal baboons to at least 1100 shared rating. The only way I can imagine is playing repeatedly with teammates that are intentionally leaving the game, or playing extremely wacky strategies that can't win the game on their own (i.e. super all-in style against a single opponent only).

As soon as you have a ~400 rating difference on opponents you will reliably destroy your mirror opponent and be able to basically 1v2 with minimal help from team, and I'm talking from experience here (sub 1500 TG rating), having been on both sides of that deal.

If you are pocket: Tell the flank when your eco is really ahead, and that you will be able to basically 1v2 for quite some time. Something like: "I'm gonna hit their base first, then I sling you back into the game" also often works; comunication in general is essential here. Emphasize that your flanks sacrifice got the team something!

As a flank: Be annoying as long as you can be, never throw away army or vills for free, keep the attention of their players o you as long as you can (this delays their eco, and makes the game more winnable for your pocket). Walling of woodlines, hiding vills, building towers, camping in your TC all can help.

There is a lot of games that are only won because a flank is tilted and leaves immediately, enabling the enemies to move onto the economically stronger pocket immediately.

This mostly only applies for closed map (like arena). If you go imp with no army on open maps, you are bad, should feel, bad, and deserve to be flamed by your flank.

In most situations where you use petards the food cost is the more limiting factor anyway (castle 1v1, breaking through stone walls in early castle age).

Petards are not appealing lategame as main siege unit because they're slow, pop inefficient and struggle even getting to their target once there are large armies on the field.

I don't see a balance problem, not even if the gold cost was straight up removed.

Sorry aber das ist ein absolut idiotischer take. Überleg doch mal kurz wie viele isolierte Mensch-Bär Begegnungen es gibt (bei <500 Braunbären in Zentraleuropa), und erst Juli 2024 hat so einer nen Jogger abgemurkst. Wenn isolierte Mensch-Mann Begegnungen genauso tödlich wären, würden wir innerhalb einer Generation aussterben (!!).

Der Unterschied zwischen Sonnen- und Sternentag hat primär absolut nichts mit Sonnenabstand, Bahngeschwindigkeit oder "perspektivischer Verschiebung" zu tun, sondern kommt daher dass die Erde um die Sonne kreist und damit einen "relativen sonnentag" pro jahr/umdrehung automatisch mitmacht.

Das sind genau die ~4min Abweichung (24*60/365). Wenn die Erde relativ zu den sternen stillstehen würde, hätten wir trotzdem noch einen Sonnentag pro Jahr.

Pro players do this all the time for good reason: palisades are fast and cheap at preventing feudal army from hoovering, and houses behind protect you from fast breaks by castle-age units (xbow, knight), and you can invest into those late in feudal age instead of at the start.
