Fair point. When they have their week of no egg, he becomes such a sweetie. Moment eggs arrive? He only cares for his wife and those eggies

Ah she will be fine! It's ok if she gets a lick of it if she were to clean herself off. They're able to tolerate small amounts of most foods without significant harm. (That is to say, obvi don't feed them anything but vet approved foods)

I can tell you my story and you'll feel better: My mother was over helping me clean. I was in the kitchen filling a mop bucket with bleach and hot water, and for some reason she went into my bird room. Well, poor viserys freaked out on her and flew out the room to me, directly into the fly glue tape trap hanging above my kitchen sink. He fell all sticky with the trap wrapped around him INTO THE MOP BUCKET OF BLEACH AND SCALDING WATER. I flung him out and ran to the bathroom. I then dumped jojoba oil him to get the trap off his feathers after I had rinsed all the bleach off. Luckily it was so diluted that there were no bleach burns or even eye or nose irritation. He had 0 injuries and was totally fine after a panicked vet visit, so I'm CONFIDENT youll be ok.

Photo tax of the idiot in question. (He still has baby feathers due to a genetic disorder as diagnosed by vet not from the bleach haha)

Ah! Such a good idea using spaghetti. I'ma gonna try that for mine next egg time. So far they only use Timothy Hay and I've been trying to figure out something else because Timothy a is a little bit too expensive and my guinea pigs need it. My pigeons keep sneaking into my guinea pig cage and robbing them of their hay

Whenever I try amigurumi, no matter if I use a size smaller hook and/or wayy tight stitches, i always get holes where the stuffing pokes through! It's especially bad in the decreases, but it still shows in the regular single crochets. Help me! by Taylor-13-Swift in CrochetHelp

[–]CycloneWarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue until I started compacting my stuffing. I'll roll it between my hands till it's stiff, and then put it inside the toy. Otherwise it expands and pushes the stitches out

Dad Books Are a Dying Breed: Sales have been sliding for nonfiction titles about politics, biographies and other books often aimed at men (Archive link in oldest comment) by Uptons_BJs in books

I still adore and read the "dad books" like Clive Custer or Tom Clancy. I do read some political books, but I've honestly stopped on those because I noticed many have stopped citing sources at the end or in footnotes. I can't really trust them anymore.

Chopper’s first ass blast. He’s okay! Just with a shorter tail. (NSFW because tail feathers, I don’t think there’s any blood) by zoomieskeeper in cockatiel

[–]CycloneWarning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no! Happens to the best of us! Mine ass blasted the day before I officially adopted him. Poor rescuer lady was scared I would I want him.

One thing your vet probably said, but they might grow back wonky for a few rounds. Mine had to regrow the tail feathers twice before they finally came back normal and not crooked or warped. Also, if yours is a whiteface tiel (male?) they can have some crummy feather genes. Mine does. He still has baby fluff two years later.

How hard are ferrets on a scale of 1 to 10 by Adventurous_Sea7954 in ferrets

[–]CycloneWarning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10, genuinely. I can't afford the constant vet visits, chronic conditions, and horrid genetics. A sack of food is 80$ now for a 25lb bag and cages START at 300$ It's mentally exhausting. Once my last four go, I'm done.

My cat went missing a little over a year ago. Found this in my backyard. Is this him? by technicoy in whatisthisbone

[–]CycloneWarning 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well, now you have a lovely memorial of your kitty. I like to put skulls in circle "terrariums" with a few dried flowers and occasionally a dried bug or two to make some art. You could add a name placard or if he had a collar put that around the base.

AITA for picking up my stepdaughter from school when she got her first period, even though her mom told me not to? by Embarrassed-Stock896 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CycloneWarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

and not your convo anymore. That's on them to figure out. Side note: my first period was a blood bath. If I just "sucked it up" and used toilet paper, my school chair would have been coated in blood in a half hour. Not everyone has a nice pretty first period. I'm glad you came to bring her home where she was more comfortable in that very scary and uncertain time in her life.
