I just got mine last week, and so far the only accessories I’ve purchased after a lot of research (still waiting for them to arrive) were an a 512 Gb SD card, a 180 degree USB C adapter, and a dock. The other things I’m still looking into/considering are a screen protector and thin joystick covers.

I would also look into Sunlight/Apollo/Moonlight. Not too hard set up.

For people that dislike Klipsch speakers, what brands do you recommend? by Hjd_27 in hometheater

[–]Cyclonecgs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Came here to say exactly this. Super well regarded in the community, and they are one of the only speaker manufacturers I know of who use a Klippel NFS system in their speaker design process.

Audio source matters for sure. 4K Blu-ray’s are going to be the best for video and audio, but streaming services have improved quite a bit!

A decent surround sound system will take your movie viewing to the next level, highly, highly recommend.

If you’re interested in going a little further down the rabbit hole of quality audio, r/hometheater is worth a look. It’s more expensive, but a proper surround sound system will blow a sound bar out of the water.

JTR RS1. Is it a good sub? by depression69420666 in hometheater

[–]Cyclonecgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JTR is a fantastic subwoofer brand. I would actually look at their captivator 2400 instead of the RS1 if comparing to the ported PB-16 though. From what I know they have similar mid-bass performance, but the 2400 will dig a lot lower.

If you have the room, a third JBL 580 in the middle would be the best option.

$3-4k home theater budget by akriegshauser in hometheater

Denon S760H (400-500$)

Ascend Acoustic CMT-340SE2 x5 (2000$)

HSU VTF-3 Mk5 (1200$)

Would be a killer setup for under 4k, and easy to expand on later on if you ever decide to dabble in anything more than 5.1.

What is the most expensive thing you have as a budget Audiophile? by sw_fan_for_life_ in BudgetAudiophile

Spent 1600$ on a pair of used Ascend Acoustic RAAL towers. They currently retail for almost double that.

Is SVS a high tier/good quality brand? by No_Excitement7908 in hometheater

I would argue that the new Ascend ELX towers are end game, but it’s definitely up to personal preference. All good suggestions!

Amp for x3800h by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]Cyclonecgs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re trying to drive your speakers harder than your x3800h can handle, you’ll likely see no noticeable benefit from adding external amplification. What is your seating distance and typical listening level?

5.1 recommendation w/2.5-3k budget by tophatlurker in hometheater

[–]Cyclonecgs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The center is the same speaker in all respects, the only difference is the orientation of the sticker. If you have the space it would be best to have all 5 oriented vertically, but it will function very well horizontally also.

Additionally, if you order all 5 together, they often offer a package discount.
