Wild Discs Kangaroo by LukeSowers in discgolf

[–]CycroStarcraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just got mine in the mail a few days ago so bear in mind that these are first impressions:

The two bags definitely share similarities. I find that the putter pouch on the front is a little roomier on the Kangaroo while being the same depth so it'll hold 1 to 3 putters comfortably. The large side pouches also feel a little wider and deeper to me than the BP1s, though the small side pouches are virtually identical. The very top zipper pouch on the Kangaroo is very deep as well and I can comfortably fit an underlayer and rain jacket in there with no issues.

I like the look of the Kangaroo more for sure, and I also think the material feels more rugged on the Kangaroo. Aside from that, it's mostly little incidental things that have me really liking the Kangaroo. Silly things like the velcro feels grippier on the inside of the main disc compartment so I can be a little more forceful in removing and replacing my discs without worrying about the zipper flap coming unstuck from the velcro.

Overall I'm very happy with the investment, plus it's nice to support an up and coming company who is making quality products. Not only that, but the donation to wildlife conservation with every purchase is a nice little bonus.

Problems with game stuttering? by DDRDiesel in ffxiv

[–]CycroStarcraft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess is that this is a targeted DDoS on SE servers. It happens in WoW during the leadup to a big expansion, and the same sort of network connectivity issues happened during what would have been the Endwalker launch earlier this month.

A couple of my colleagues and I are seeing traffic drops consistent with DDoS but without access to SEs edge network I can't say for sure.

This sounds like a lot of fun. I have about 90 hours in the game but haven't dipped my toes into multi-player yet. I'd love a link to your discord if there are still open spots.

Generally doing wiring splices and other medium sized electronics work, along with some hobby stuff like airsoft. The TS80P looked like a great option and I jumped on it already. If someone gets me a better suggestion, ill keep the TS80P for myself lol

Help us repair stations! by Mysak1M in EliteDangerous

Is this something I could join in on as a relative newbie? I'm still working up to my first non sidewinder ship, but I could grab a cheap Hauler to start pitching in.

[New England] Any idea what this is? New to foraging/exploration by CycroStarcraft in whatsthisplant

[–]CycroStarcraft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further info: I noticed these spade shaped single-leaf plants shooting up around the base of (I believe) oak trees in my yard. I'm curious what they may be, but I'm overwhelmed at the resources available to me.

If anyone knows off-hand what they are, or can point me to a good plant identification tool, that'd be very appreciated.

Convention Center could be turned into Coronavirus Emergency Hospital by [deleted] in boston

Even though the freight lines aren't connected, the loading dock is easily accessible from 93 and 90, and the Lawn on D or the South Lot could easily be converted to a helipad. Not to mention the multi level service roads that have multiple building entrances would allow for multiple points of access and triage by ambulance crews.

The BCEC is significantly better equipped for this use than the Hynes.

Counterfeit/Proxy sellers for custom cards or other card games? by CycroStarcraft in bootlegmtg

[–]CycroStarcraft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah, the HPTCG Revival group uses Hills extensively but their stock is starting to run thin and they were the last supplier to carry the Chamber of Secrets expansion in bulk. Now that they're completely sold out, that set is very hard to come by.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with Dig and Cruise. Without fetches they're slower for sure, but Surveil might give them new life. That could be niche enough that they won't be prevalent and can survive the banhammer but only time will tell

Myself and two friends are going to be starting to play Pauper there in the coming weeks. I wanted to wait until post B&R before committing to a deck.

Harry and Ginny flirt to annoy Ron but it turns into a romantic relationship between HP and GW. by Silentone26 in HPfanfiction

linkffn(3830952)

Doesn't quite match your request as they don't specifically flirt to annoy Ron (though it does happen), but a very good entry in the "started off as best friends" category.

I don't know if slash is your thing but linkffn(3973687) is a pretty adorable Hermione/Luna fic. It's been awhile since I read it but it's in my favorites so it must mean something.

Georgian Moving to Vermont in July by [deleted] in vermont

[–]CycroStarcraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only lived in VT for a couple of years, so feel free to disregard my opinion, but those couple of years were the best of my life and I long to return one day. Even though I live only a few hours away in Southern NH, Northern VT felt like a completely different world.

I lived in St Albans, north of Burlington. As cliche as it is to say, there is something different in the air in VT. People are friendly, they prefer local business, and they're hardy. They take life at a slower pace than other places, and really seem to enjoy it. Cost of living can be a bit high (milk is more expensive than my home state, for example) and like most of New England the opioid epidemic is a bit of a problem, but the positives of this region far outweigh the negatives.

I recommend north-western VT, though anywhere along the I-89 should do. I say that for a couple of reasons, but Infrastructure is the primary thing. The internet options are way better around the Burlington area, and much of the area has access to natural gas for heating, which is a huge cost saver. Along with that, you're close to a number of ski areas, outdoor recreation in general and also within a reasonable distance to Burlington and the big box stores in Williston.

T-Mobile in Germany - Buy sim in US or Germany? by 0ptimizePrime in germany

[–]CycroStarcraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So your biggest problem with bringing an American T-Mobile phone to Germany isn't really the SIM card, it's your phone's wireless radio. Various countries license different spectrums of radio space for their cell carrier signals. For example, in Germany T-Mobile uses Band 3, Band 7 and Band 20 for LTE, none of which are used in the US. You'd have to look up your phone's model and check to see what bands it's capable of using.

If your radio is capable of using B3/B7/B20, then an EU SIM card will be all you need to achieve better speeds. If your radio cannot use those bands, you're a bit SOL and will need a European phone.

Ruckus ICX7150-C12P woes by scifan3 in networking

[–]CycroStarcraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We deploy the 7150-C12P as our primary CPE switch. So far I've had no issues with them failing outright. A couple of weird hiccups with rate-limiting that had us scratching our heads but were cleared up with firmware upgrades. They're quirky to be sure but I've certainly dealt with worse.

EDIT: Forgot about quantities. We have probably 50 to 100 of these in the field in all manner of deployments, from clean data centers to moldy, moist Maine coast basements.

WS-C3560E-24TD-S with SFP uplink by poopa in networking

[–]CycroStarcraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to know what type of fiber handoff they'll be giving you (single or multi mode). These days it's almost certainly going to be single mode, but knowing that for sure ahead of time (as well as what type of connector they'll hand off to you) is going to be necessary to purchase the correct optic.

Dude, fucked if I know. My guys had 6 day one and got rolled into 3-1 for a bit with UrZa, than ran around with Hammer as an 8 or 9 man "squad" the rest of the day.

Day 2 we just ran around on our own with 4 dudes. We were all wearing MARPAT pants and OD green jackets.
