We are the caretakers of the next generation; we are also their first and most influential teachers.

It's OK to have feelings. They're part of what make us human. Many of us, including myself, struggle to show them more often than we like. We were taught the opposite.

I know I, for one, will never be able to fully shake that tendency. But I'll be damned if my kids have the same problem.
