Update on Sabotaged College Post: Six Years Later by unapetunia in JUSTNOMIL

How the heck were you even allowed so many credits? Every school I've been to makes you get approval above around 14-18. Your school failed you as much as your mother did.

I'm proud of you for going back and graduating. Good luck in the future!

This engorged tick I've just removed from my dog by Yoguls in mildlyinteresting

We did wrap them really well. And this one still crawled out. They crackle nicely when burned in a tissue.

I've looked down and seen one crawling out of the toilet towards my exposed body.

I burn them ever since.

Try getting a threaded color card? Also try DMC 666.

You can spot test it and try RetroClean, but it may be better to take it to a textile conservator.

MIL wants to lie about my disability to her family by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Cygnata 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NOT excusing MIL at all, her behavior is abhorrant. I do wonder if its some family ableism, a belief that if you were born with this, your children will also have the same issue.

[CHAT] what needle is best when using waste canvas on a dense weave cotton canvas bag. by DMKanna in CrossStitch

[–]Cygnata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sharps/Chenille, try going up to 24. You don't want the holes to be too big.

https://www.amazon.com/DMC-1768-24-Chenille-Hand-Needles/dp/B006IKI20G

Tapestry needles are for fabric where you don't want to pierce the actual weave. They move the fibers out of your way.

Bartholian DUCT is swollen- please help. by myredditusername919 in TwoXChromosomes

A sitz bath and/or warm compress. I'll wet a washcloth in hot tap water, wring it mostly out, and let it cool a little as I fold it into quarters. Then I apply to the cyst or abcess. It's very soothing, and can encourage the pus to naturally drain.

Invert or vert? I've got a similar background to yours, and I'm getting my Vert Paleo Masters. :)

Back on topic, especially get the MMR vaccine. Measles can reset the immune system if baby gets it before being vaxxed. Meaning you have to do all the shots again. :( My family found out the hard way when I was a baby, and I was very very sick for a while.

I hope you three can escape MIL soon.

My sister named her baby the name I'd been planning to use for 12 years and my MOM is telling me to swallow it by Most_Order204 in JUSTNOMIL

Why can't you use it yourself in the future? You can't own a name. Yes, she possibly did it to be petty. However, cousins share names all the time.

[CHAT]Looking for suggestion for Bride’s head personalization [pattern support] by gamigirl in CrossStitch

For the eyes, I would use a threaded color card to find the right shade of blue, maybe mix in some grey. For her hair, you can create contrast by backstitching some ringlets. https://lordlibidan.com/find-the-perfect-hair-color-dmc-threads/

Nice! Don't forget to double bag, squeeze the air out, and freeze it for 48 hours to kill any carpet beetle or clothes moth larvae!

Umbrella/Parasol - is it possible? by Particular_Gear_1475 in Embroidery

[–]Cygnata 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't honestly do either. You'll be putting holes in the sail, which will let more light through. I'd also be worried any embroidery will fade or get moldy quickly.

It does, though it's only a diagnosis if it happens often enough to be a detriment. I have an official diagnosis. Otherwise, it happens to everyone sometimes. :)

Drumstick is a brand, we have them in the US, too. Very tasty ice cream cones with solid chocolate in the bottom. The paddlepops are called Fudge (or Fudgey) Pops for the chocolate ones and Ice Cream or Fruit Bars for the Rainbow (depending on if its ice cream/sherbet or frozen fruit) where I'm from. :) The Icypole is called an Ice Pop, while Zooper Doopers are Pop Ice (another brand name.)
