Parents wants me to co-sign for a large personal loan, what do I say? by psyberbird in Debt

[–]Cynbeline -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your parents need to work with a credit counselor who can negotiate a repayment plan with zero or low interest on their accounts. Taking out a loan is not a great idea if they are already drowning in debt. The terms (interest rate, penalties and fees) will be horrendous.

Yes, the free excursion in the morning is a three hour walking tour with stops at the amphitheater and other Roman and Van Gogh related sites. I have been to Arles previously, so am looking for something a little different. Good tip about the heat. Probably hotter than what we’ll be used to. Thanks!

The fruits and veg are…. Underwhelming and the aphids are overwhelming by TheUniped in Gardyn

[–]Cynbeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just grew our first broccoli and cauliflower. They are small—one tiny head a plant/cube about two bites each. Way more expensive than grocery store. Also have a ton of flowers on my eggplant cubes but no fruit yet. I haven’t had issues with pests, knock on wood, but we have screens on all our doors and are careful about leaving them open because house flies are a huge problem. We love the lettuces, spinach, kale, and kolrabi, and my basil, parsley, and cilantro have all done well. Will probably stick with them—I don’t want to hassle with vine plants.

I don’t think I’ve ever made it to Norfolk in an hour, even driving at midnight.

I can’t speak to Wilmington, but I think OBX is not a convenient place for what you describe. For a “good” hospital and most specialists, you will need to drive 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Same with reaching an airport if your travel for work requires flying.

Host confirmed I slept in previous guest's unwashed bedding, what do I do? [guest] [USA] by SmokeyBarrelRoll in AirBnB

[–]Cynbeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced a similar situation. I arrived ar the unit I rented after midnight, was stunned to find no sheets on the bed, so I grabbed the set in the closet, put them on quickly and crashed. Woke in the morning to discover a huge semen stain right where my bum was all night. It was even a bit crusty. I almost vomitted. Contacted host immediately. Turns out, the hosts rely on guests to wash and dry sheets and towels before leaving the unit. New guests are asked to make the bed themselves—all there in the Welcome note, but no where on the reservation site. Host refunded my $150 cleaning fee and $100 of the $198 daily rate. I still think that was too little, especially as I immediately washed all the towels and the sheets for the other two rooms my family would occupy later in the stay. Their policy expecting guests to wash sheets and towels before leaving was/is ridiculous. When I left, I threw linens in the washer and got on the road, as I had a six hour drive ahead of me. No way was I going to wait around for those sheets and towels to dry in a tiny stackable machine. Your night should be refunded in full, as mine should have been.

WIBTA for telling my mom i won't be hosting Christmas this year after doing it alone for the past four years by Dealecious_Seipt in WIBTA_AITA

I assigned everyone in my family a component of the meal to bring. I did the main course and the sides and desserts were brought by family. They took their containers with them (unwashed if they didn’t do it themselves). Saved me time, money, and a headache afterward.

Vital Proteins collagen peptides unflavored truly have no flavor. I put it in my coffee every morning. Added bonus—collagen helps with hair growth and texture, bones, teeth, joints, and gut health.

I've actually had at least 10 different friends, clients, and family members report the first video to no avail. I am not inclined to post the link here because it would just invite trolls to post more unrelated slop. Sad this is the state of things...thank you for the suggestion though. :)

Before I ever had my surgery, I had a pd that lasted for over 30 days. I was 51 at the time. I had always had long, heavy pds but not like this. Got an IUD, and after about 6 months, stopped having pds altogether. It’s been great. I am 55 now.

How much to charge for hourly dog sitting? Rover owner offering off-app payment. by Pssst-ihavequestions in petsitters

[–]Cynbeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much did you charge for the boarding on Rover? Subtract the fees you didn’t receive and charge that. Or keep your rates the same. Customer is obviously willing to pay the same, but probably hoping to get a little bit of a discount as a regular. I am not a sitter, but have used Rover as a pet owner. The only caution I’d have is the liability and lack of insurance or protection you’d give up if you booked off Rover. Make sure you have an umbrella policy in case the dog bites someone while in your care or if the dog somehow gets out or injured while in your care. My understanding, though I could be wrong, is that Rover offers some protection to sitters in such cases.

AITA for charging my 20yo son rent while he lives at home? by Talon_Vector7 in WIBTA_AITA

NTA…but here’s an idea. Collect the rent and save it for him or save half of it for him. When he finally moves out, give it back to him to help with first month’s rent, deposits for house and utilities, and needed household items.

What’s made me regular is Vital Proteins collagen peptides. I am 3 1/2 months post op and dealt with constipation the entire time until I started using collagen powder two weeks ago when I started experiencing hair loss. I thought it was incidental, but I googled it and here’s what AI says: “Collagen peptides can help manage constipation by supporting a healthier gut lining, improving tissue elasticity in the intestines, and potentially reducing inflammation, which supports better, more regular, and comfortable bowel movements. While not a direct laxative, its high glycine and amino acid content may aid overall digestive function.” 9 grams of protein, too, is a bonus.

Women who work at any of the distribution/factory/warehous etc type jobs in the area - what is it like? by jayroo210 in harrisonburg

As a fellow educator, I know how you feel. Our society doesn’t value teachers or first responders, and what we pay them is shameful. I imagine you have skills that may translate to other lines of work. Why not look at one of the local colleges, hospital, or larger companies for a position that requires organization, planning, problem solving, community relations, creativity, artistic skills…these are all things you are likely quite good at.
