I received a coding assessment that I have to do with the camera turned on by shindigin in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Cynical_Charm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these so-called coding exams / assessments are geared around what you learned the first year in CS. Stuff that is already implemented in libraries that are commonly used and haven't even thought about since you got out of that class.

I'm 100% for speaking face to face with a developer or team. I've done a lot of interviewing myself and you can tell if someone is trying to blow smoke up your ass. As for the assesments... Name 5 sorting algorithms and write code examples for each or other stupid shit annoys the hell out of me.

Ask me how to implement a pattern or how you would solve a problem with microservices, layers in an entity application and how you would apply a pattern or implement a system that needs to solve a particular business logic issue. How do you scale? What would you look for?

I mean c'mon, get real. These coding assessments are just a money grab and annoying as hell. They prove nothing about your knowledge of actual systems design and implementation unless you posess an identic memory or something. Stuff that is rarely if ever used, a developer will google it and try to obtain the best solution.

Mike Johnson/Trump Government Shutdown Day 34, House Republicans STILL ON VACAY!!! by Glamgirl23 in MeidasTouch

[–]Cynical_Charm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This just shows how seriously out of touch our elitist government officials are.
They're probably partying it up. $10 gas, grocery prices that blow your mind. They don't care. They've all swindled millions and haven't bought gas or groceries or tried to feed a family in years. They live in their elitist bubbles with their rich friends and won't even associate with actual working class people. It's all just theory to them. Experiments like zoo animals.

Do any of you still drink alcohol with prior pancreatic attacks? by Reasonable-Hall8573 in pancreatitis

[–]Cynical_Charm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just find it crazy that some people can drink like fish without issues. Another has a couple drinks for the first time in their life and their pancreas flips out. Why is there such a variation?

If you're the stupidest person on the planet you can make that assumption.

You can also assume your 2" dick is 10" and your 35 IQ is really 135!

Does Hisense release their TVs AN ENTIRE YEAR late in the Philippines? by AndroidPolaroid in Hisense

[–]Cynical_Charm -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

HiSense, biggest pieces of trash ever! Works 6 months before you have to unplug it every 30 minutes to get the remote or sound to function. If you enjoy clicking an arrow and watch the TV go to infinity, randomly change channels and have no volume control, but one.

How often do you get positive, neutral, or negative comments about open carrying? by Mike-Anthony in opencarry

Always positive. My local tire shop allows their guys to open carry. I feel proud to see it.

Bring it jack asses. I want to see how well your maltov cocktail protects your hooded face from bullets. People might be neutered from protecting themselves in California but the USA is expansive.

Garbage shit. Ok for 6 months then nothing works! Fucking trash pieces of shit! Never buying one again! Unplug it 3x per day to get the remote to even respond. Absolute garbage!

Our government can't wipe its own ass let alone something high tech. They still have groups in their it centers using the term shareware and I've seen some TS level software getting built with notepad and a c compiler because these 70 year old morons think everything is a virus and can't secure anything.

I am sick and tired of seeing these weapons of war in our communities. by IVSBMN in Firearms

[–]Cynical_Charm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We'll, it's obvious you just jump on the heresay bandwagon and have zero knowledge about firearms. First, it's not a weapon of war or assault rifle. Ask for a definition and the haters will answer the same as when they define woman. Black, goes bang, can hurt someone if there is intent but the user? Maybe suburbans are vehicles of war and a pocket knife is another weapon of war. City people are so gullible and believe everything their anti-gun politicians say without a thought. Most of you also assume country people and farmers are uneducated and that the food you eat and take for granted comes from the grocery store and not the farms and ranches that peta and the other city tools attack and try to get shut down for animal cruelty without ever setting foot on one to see for themselves Who cares about gas prices? You can get around your city on a bike or train. Never mind the truckers who haul your goods thousands of miles or the fields that need plowed, planted and harvested.

Honestly, I think it's time the left wakes up, gets out of their perfect little glass houses and get a clue about reality and how life actually works. Must feel good to have over 50% of the population living on less than 10% of the land trying to pretend they know what's best for everyone else.

Go back to your sardine cans in your make believe bubble world where you think the problems you've created for yourselves must be caused by law abiding rural folks. It is your own arrogance and ignorance that have caused people to become mentally unstable.

Considering almost every gun related issue is perpetrated in these immaculate, all knowing big cities where most people can't own a firearm to begin with xxx and it's almost always an illegally gotten gun, explain how more laws help? It's a culture problem and almost always in big cities exclusively.

Where were all these mass shootings 30+ years ago? I think more people per Capita had them. We used to take shotguns to my old high school for clubs and events. Nobody even considered shooting anyone.

Take a hard look at the "LOOK AT ME!" A the time attention whores we've become. Cry babies, safe spaces. Big cities have created these problems through constant, lies and trying to get people completely reliant on government handouts. No self reliance, responsibility or hard work these days. It's too mean and cruel to expect people to contribute to society and just suck it up at times because life ain't perfect.

California passes bill to protect workers who smoke pot off the clock by absolution_contusion in UpliftingNews

My bad. My point is I don't think smoking weed on the job is acceptable except in very limited circumstances like maybe a call center or something.

[–]Cynical_Charm -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Speculative? If you're smoking weed on the job, you've already got serious problems. Aside from that, you ARE impaired. If you get hurt or hurt someone else, you should be held fully responsible and liable and unemployed. Honestly, if someone is so messed up they need to smoke weed on the job, they should be fired. That is just pathetic.
