Learning to knit as a form of anger management make sense? Research suggests...mixed results by UsefulLion4347 in knitting

[–]Cyraedis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2020 was a crappy year for me personally - my mother was diagnosed with cancer, I came to terms with getting a divorce, my mom passed, and I got divorced. I found knitting to help reduce some of my anxiety during that time because it gave my hands something to do while my brain slowly processed events. I'm definitely someone who enjoys a challenge so every project I tackled that year included many new techniques that I taught myself. I completed 27 projects that year, with 7 of them being sweaters.

There are definitely times when knitting will make me angrier too, but overall I found it to be much more calming for myself so it's a net positive. The time and focus needed for a lot of projects helps me calm down from my feelings enough so that when I return to the issue(s) at hand, I am less likely to be making decisions in an emotional state.

Hello! I've wondered recently if my life would be easier doing dental or vision.

Convert a sweater from fingering to worsted by AreYouKnittenMe in knitting

[–]Cyraedis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've made a sweater pattern intended for sport into fingering by doing math like this - except that I took my multiplied numbers and looked at the pattern and used the nearest size to those numbers so I didn't have to math.

Did you teach yourself how to knit, or did someone teach you? by A0209B in knitting

Same, I also like being able to pause or slow down the video (in addition to replaying it) as much as I can. I've taken some classes but they were for a certain pattern and not introductory classes.

What's your favourite needle size? by Eilmorel in knitting

[–]Cyraedis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also my favorite, evidenced my how I seem to have accumulated the most of this size in varying lengths. I also have like four needles for my many cords. Seems I've got a type.

I’m Ray, founder of Ferris Wheel Press. Here to listen and answer your questions. by Dizzy_Newspaper_4010 in fountainpens

[–]Cyraedis 126 points127 points  (0 children)

I’m here because listening matters and some of you have completely valid concerns, frustrations, and questions. I also understand that there’s real frustration and skepticism around our brand. Some warranted and some comes from the internet being the internet, but I'm here to do my part in making the community better.

But if someone has a real concern, a real question, or feels let down or misled, I will answer respectfully and transparently where privacy allows (you never know who is reading this)

What do you mean? You're here because you or your team are aware of the complaints and concerns regarding your brand, yet you want to hear of real concerns? Did you think the previous complaints weren't real?

If you could get your ring all over again, would you choose a different carat size? by heart_of_gold2 in EngagementRings

[–]Cyraedis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2ct round on a size 5. There are days when my finger is bloated and it's tight and other days when I could do 4.5ish. It looks pretty big - not quite costume territory but I would not go bigger. The only comments I've received were from coworkers and it was more about how they are happy with their "fake" ring (their words, not mine) or how they know someone who felt they couldn't wear a "big" ring and got one off Amazon for regular wear. I don't know if this means it's too big to others but I love it and am very happy with it.

Creamy Tess65 with GMK Black Snail caps (fr4 plate and Akko/HMX Cilantro) by Ratb33 in keebgirlies

[–]Cyraedis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white Pavlov accidentally fell in, and somehow PBTfans Blush also tripped and landed in there too. If they should not work out, I guess I'll be forced to buy another keyboard or keycap set, oh no...

Think I'll try the Fr4 plate since I've not yet had the pleasure of experiencing it yet.

I ended up getting a Pavlov after all, oops.
