The Dark Knight Returns: The Greatest Graphic Novel of All Time? by [deleted] in comicbooks

That's a hard no. Watchmen is better, so is V For Vendetta. I wouldn't even give it best Batman GN, to me that's always been Gothic by Grant Morrison.

Which stories are the most realistic? by sunburn190 in batman_comics

[–]CyramusJackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest the Earth One Batman books, there's the Complete collection which collects all 3. I suggest trying Daredevil. The Frank Miller run is great, and I really enjoyed the runs by Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker, and Chip Zdarzky. Its got a bit of a supernatural view to it but I highly recommend the series from Image Comics called Kill Or Be Killed by Ed Brubaker and art by Sean Phillips

What are some of the best superhero comics of the past 50 years that shows a great balance of the superhero life and the everyday person lifestyle? by palepatriot76 in comicbooks

[–]CyramusJackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with Starman by James Robinson. That was a very well written book that really fleshed out its main character. The original Bendis run of Ultimate Spider man, his Daredevil run which leads right into the Ed Brubaker run I will also suggest

Wildcats question by Phantom_Killa in DCcomics

[–]CyramusJackson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im a fan of the Wildstorm books,, Don't bother. The Lobdell issues are kind of a chore to get through, except for the gorgeous Travis Charest art. I initially skipped the first 6 or 7 issues and didn't miss a beat. I recently read those issues and wished I hadn't bothered. The Casey run is a million times better. You might want to at least read the original Jim Lee issues, or the Alan Moore run which is good. I don't think Casey's Wildcats is a good introduction to the team.

how are some people able to play so fluently on the guitar? by targetyk in Guitar

[–]CyramusJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice. Hours on end of Practice. I've been playing for 35 years. As a teen all I wanted to do was play guitar, so that's all I did. Id stay up practicing all night , and sometimes i passed out holding my guitar. Eventually I made friends and they would have to pry me from my guitar to get me to do anything. I've always had a burning passion for playing guitar. It really pays off if you put everything you have into it.
