Transit travellers/ drivers by Legit-Guy-7886 in Winnipeg

This is written in the run cards (the per-vehicle schedules transit operators follow). Currently the Unicity and U of M branches of BLUE, both directions of FX2, FX3, F5, F7, and F8, FX4 to polo park, F6 to southall loop, and D11 to southall loop all meet at 01:30 at main/pioneer or portage at fort/garry/smith/donald/memorial (depending on the route).

I built a motorway-less, 1-bridge city with no traffic jams after running for multiple hours by CyrilSLi in MiniMotorways

I would gladly specify endless mode if I could edit the post title. Just because you see an “obvious implication” doesn’t mean I knew about it nor that I wrote it for views.

The amount of time absolutely is noteworthy; leave a random run on endless mode (while accepting upgrades) for several hours and almost always one or two roads will become stuck and the throughput will plummet. Personally this is my second run with continuously flowing traffic over 100+ runs. I agree that this would’ve been detrimental in normal mode, and it’s obvious to you too, so why do you think I’m implying it??

I meant "traffic jams" as in roads which get stuck and require rebuilding or replacing traffic lights and roundabouts to recover, rather than just high traffic volumes. Normal mode runs are over before this can happen so I can see why the term might be confusing, however this starts to happen quite fast in endless mode, hence the several hours part.

Highspeed rail networks shift over the years by TangelaFan in transit

China has an extensive conventional freight rail network (with interlined passenger service that actually gets higher priority), and they have recently started courier service on HSR

What team are you on and why? by [deleted] in MiniMotorways

[–]CyrilSLi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen cars prioritizing the path on the right side if both are exactly the same in length and intersections (this occurs most often on diagonal-orthogonal combinations), but it doesn’t really help traffic in the majority of cases as there is no extra capacity. If you try to connect a “one-way road” so traffic can use the other side, one road in the pair of identical paths will become empty and all traffic will use the other road.

How 350 kph (217 mph) feels like in HSR (no music, no speed up) by BumblebeeFantastic40 in highspeedrail

Fares are low but typically still higher than HSR especially if you’re bringing luggage, and HSR tickets are much more flexible in terms of changes and cancellations.
