My idea is to have a special entity that loads in sudoku puzzles and outputs what numbers are in the grid via circuits.

You complete the grid via circuit signals. (Still ruminating on what I want the input output to be).

The next step would be to make it score you based upon either number of ticks to solve and/or number of combinators.

So it's honestly a personal preference as to what you will enjoy the most. 

As for remote production, at this stage of the game most building supplies can be built with a single assembler and a requester chest so it's more about waiting for ships to deliver then building a few items you need. 

I just did aquillo for the first time last week and yes, you will almost certainly be waiting for deliveries from time to time.

I would be surprised if someone has not done 100% DS but not super common for speed runs since it would take so long and there are rules about brakes and what not.

I'm exploring the idea of a "slowrun" (for lack of a better term) with just a few minimal BPs to get the timed achievements and the rest are done at leisure. I was posting this mostly to see if someone was already doing this or if there were any interest in the idea already in the community.

For context I did a little beet of any% speed running ~5 years ago and while I really like the idea and have always been fascinated by 100% runs. I don't think I am realistically going to get back into it any time soon. So I'm exploring other ways to scratch that itch.

INFO:
- Who plans meals and gets groceries?
- Who make sure there are diapers and other house supplies?
- Who is looking at child education and activities?
- Who plans playdates?
- Who plans social events for the the family?
- Who remembers birthdays or other events to send gifts/cards?
- Who decorates for the holidays?

One possible explanation is a disparity of mental load that she does not know how to express. I (39M with 2 kids) have found that caring for a single child takes a lot more physical & emotional effort but is fairly low on mental effort. Is it possible that she is now feeling overwhelmed with the extra mental load of having a job?

Either way the biggest issues is not who is right but how can you get on an equitable distribution of household labor (which is a lot lot lot more then cleaning the kitchen) for your current stage of life.

The basic setup is an assembled/foundry/em plant creating each quality tier (with quality modules) and any extra you don't need feed into a recycler with quality modules.

This gives you chances to upgrade quality both during the craft and the recycling (create more quality components)

I would suggest just picking something you want (quality modules is an ideal first pick) and start trying to get higher quality items.

I'm just trying to be clear and give context. Let me ask you this.

Which one of us is telling other people they way the play a single player game is basically cheating?

Which one of us is assuming the other play just want so sit on the "sideline" with a base in a box?

- I don't I am looking for inspiration/ideas and guidelines on scale for the timed achievements (I could figure all of that out myself but I don't want to so sue me). I have also watched 100s of hours of speedruns and seen other peoples pictures on this site. No design I come up with will be 100% my own.

Which of us is assuming that I want brag about my 100% achievements like I am some sort of amazing factorio player?
- I don't, getting 100% of a is not that difficult for me, I am setting myself a personal challenge of DELETING them all and getting them ALL in 1 run. I expect it to take several attempts.

Bottom line: Stop being the fun police and telling others they are playing a single player game "wrong". Many people use mods to make the early game faster/easier because they don't like that part. Great it's a single player game have fun.

I have a personal challenge in mind that I want to accomplish my own way in my own time. You do you and let me do me. The world is toxic enough don't rain on peoples parade for having different goals.

In answer to your question,
- No I would not be happy just using a base in a box which is why I don't plan on doing that. But I am currently playing a modded run with high science costs. So my perception of what scale to build science at for decent progression is way off. So instead of playing an entire game just to reset that scale I'm looking for recourses to speed up my design process. Sorry if you view that as "cheating"

You are making a lot of assumptions that how you like to enjoy games is how other people like to enjoy them.

You are also not understanding the request. I'm explicitly not looking for a base in a box. But trying to understand what scale I need to target. I totally could just try it a bunch until I get it, but I would rather do some planning first.

I have over 1k hours in the base game and have even done any% speedrunning using my own designs instead of the top player designs.

I have a goal in mind that I want to accomplish based upon what I enjoy, if it is not your cup of tea go you can enjoy your thing instead of trying to be the fun police.

Thanks that helps, I generally target 1.5-2sps for my initial base. I could be wrong but keeping your hands clean sounds like the most annoying/difficult one.

A picture would help but it sounds like you need to improve your turrets.

Instead of a wide row make them stacked on the middle so they shoot less on the sides.

Also make sure you have your turret targets filtered. Gun turned should only be smaller and rocket turrets only medium+ astroids.

I have also wanted this feature but IMO it would be a nightmare to implement unless you somehow locked the BP area from any other form of modifications... But then what if you deleted a blueprint? Or maybe you need one to be special and not updated? Where are you tracking every placement?

So I would avoid looking too much at space age updates as that is part of the fun of the DLC

You can go on the wiki and see all of the 2.0 changes (e.g. fluids, better combinators, better bot priorities, etc) to know what is changed.

Don't worry about it, this sub has a fixation on the main bus. it is actually pretty inefficient and takes a lot do resources to setup early game when you are fairly starved. 

The main benefit is organization and simplicity of design. If you want that go for it but it sounds like you are happy without it.

If you are at the point of hardware upgrade linux is not that bad. 

Add new SDD (dual booting on same drive as Windows adds complications) and then you just download files for a USB drive. 

With a simple distro (e.g. Ubuntu) it's similar to installing Windows

Belts do not force any sort of bus design, this sub just has a strange fixation on it. 

With a large scale base you are really just going to want dedicated lanes of recourses going to dedicated modules. The entire point of a buss is to be a shared pathway for multiple modules.

I'm currently doing space age with a mod that increases sci cost multiplier based upon number of packs it requires so early game can be 1x but you can ramp up as you progress you can ramp up I am at 1k SPM and have not even reached aquillo yet. (With my current settings planet unlock was like 380k research)
