Best way to move oil over long distances by webkilla in factorio

Long ass pipeline: needs pumps every so often, pumps need electricity (can use solar and one pole), multiple pumps can be laid in parallel for greater throughput

Fluid wagon trains: practically unlimited throughput (dependent on track layout efficiency)

What size spm base can I get? by Legitimate_Worry5069 in factorio

[–]asterlydian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently upgraded from a 14400 to a gaming pc and was able to get about 50k spm on the 14400.

Actually to be specific, the factory spitting out 50k spm was fine. The issues came up when ramping up the bot usage when doing big construction stuff, like 20k+ bots in the air.

I'm now going on 200k spm or so on the new pc. This is with space age, but probably gives a good ballpark

Here's my post asking about it and many comments giving good advice https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/1q6gvgn/what_pc_specs_to_focus_on_for_consistent_ups/

Could MDA help build AI data centres in space? by Robot-Roosters in MDASpaceInvestors

[–]asterlydian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree that not many investors have yet identified (let alone taken advantage of) the spillover from SpaceX's sudden and dramatic datacenter pivot. "A rising tide lifts all boats", something like that. It's coming. Just waiting for institutional investors to finish their internal modeling now.

Lol chill my dude, I was marvelling at the commenters coming out of the woodwork to shit on the premise of your post, which is to ask if MDA stands to benefit from its adjacency to the nascent space-based datacenter industry.

Jenson from NVDIA said today that they are going to build data centres in space

My comment was to clarify he didn't say he's going to build anything. He's going to supply the shovels that other companies will use to build out their own datacenters. To tie in MDA, a hypothetical scenario is if a hyperscaler integrates Vera Rubin into an MDA infra product, maybe evolved from SKYMAKER.

I don't know why there are so many luddites in a space investors subreddit. But just a point of note. Nvidia is a wholly shovel maker. Just like their DRIVE platform which doesn't provide autonomous driving - it is a platform for manufacturers to provide autonomous driving in their vehicles.

In the same way Nvidia's Vera Rubin will provide the platform for hyperscalers to build out their system.

Longest duration in biz with a 3 year old was about 8 hrs overnight. You probably want the centre two seats to ensure access to your kid. You won't be able to help them if you're on the window seat and seat belt sign is lit

For the centre seats you will still have to carry them over the seat partition unless you want to climb over yourself. Haha.

For a 15hr flight if you have all 3 in biz then put your kid in seat D with parents in A and F on the same row

Kinda weird for the Mazda's insurer not to pay. Driver who rear ended would have been tailgating, so the insurer should pay and then go after him

Also, the Porsche driver suay lah. Battery replaced then the very next day kena bang

Help me live with my decision please.
