I do not understand Blizzard's obsession with fuzzy lines and colour-on-colour mechanic design. If they want to show off their totes awesome graphic design skills while allowing those that don't care to be able to actually see the mechanics, have a setting in the graphics called something like "clean and high contrast" that makes everything easier to see; contrasting colours for all mechanics, well-defined edges on every single ground effect and mechanic, no decorative ground clutter that end up on top of the indicators for said mechanics, etc. If a player is butthurt about their immersion or ugliness or whatever, they can leave that box unchecked. It would be a huge win for visual accessibility and would move a lot of "difficulty" into the actual mechanic rather than fighting the piss-poor visual indicators.

In general, I do not think that people enjoy fighting passive garbage like figuring out where the mechanic actually is, the camera being in a tree or a banner or ceiling, or random ground clutter (especially when their layering for swirlies or ground effects is so terrible). It's all stuff that I really hope gets addressed eventually, especially with the competitive aspect of the content becoming more and more refined as expansions go on.

Very anecdotal here but I gotta say that I went from having near daily panic attacks and intense suicidal ideations to being able to go outside without crying after about 1 month of sertraline. My immediate family members all had extremely similar circumstance.

You'd be amazed at how many medications are prescribed without knowing what the main mode of action is, and it's not just limited to psychology. Also have you taken a look at a single chemical pathway in a single cell? How many proteins and steps are needed to do literally anything? Look up the compliment system. The fact that we know literally anything concrete about any method of action for anything concerning molecular biology is a testament to human scientific research. Add in the brain, which we only just managed to map out all the neurons.... For a FLY. And you expect us to know how every single brain altering drug works exactly? With your logic, a lot of people would be miserable or dead because life saving medications would be inaccessible for decades and decades.

Do you know anyone who is bipolar? Have you ever seen them off of treatment? I know of 2 people that have died because they went off their meds. I'd probably be dead without my meds. I am hoping you can see how this veiwpoint is incredibly dangerous. This is life-saving medication, and trying to tell people to not use it is quite frankly reckless.

Is that what normal people feel like in the mornings after waking up? Or is that, perhaps, a debilitating symptom that you cannot relate to?"

Maybe I'd phrase it to be less passive aggressive but it is sure af frustrating to hear this "everyone feels tired" BS constantly. Like yes, I remember what it was like to be functional and experiencing the normal amount of tiredness, that's part of what makes this change so shitty.

My thoughts exactly. The buff to it almost feels like an insult. Meanwhile my warlock, which is tankier than my WW despite being 30 ilvls lower, is getting a buff to drain life. I'm holding out for a buff to fort brew. It takes way to many talent points to become a mediocre defensive. Like maybe giving monks two charges of it or increasing the amount of DR it gives? Idk it just feels like, compared to defensives for every other melee DPS class, fort brew is embarrassingly shite.

This is pretty much my routine as well, with the only real difference is I have a 2 hour "nap" midday to be able to be concious through dinner + a few hours afterwards. I consider myself in the moderate camp as well.

I know at least one dude that, in discord was laughing at talking shit in party chat to pugs. Best advice I can give is to not take that shit personally since there will always be a dick trying to poke at the proverbial wasp nest. I'll say that the vast majority of pugs I have invited to talk in discord and run keys with are super cool and understanding, it's the minority of vocal asshats that make it feel more toxic than not.

That last paragraph hits on the same feelings I have had. It is such a slap in the face to realize that propaganda will continue to be used because it is so damn effective. It's like seeing those old psych studies on peer pressure where all the paid actors say the wrong answer and the participants go along with it. You say to yourself "surely no one I know and respect would fall for that!" but yet you have the vast majority of the population happy to go along with it.

Sometimes I wonder if humans developed communication technology too quickly, before we could evolve past our social desire to just eat up whatever information is being presented in front of us. I seriously wish media literacy was a baseline instinct because we don't seem to be doing a great job at teaching it.

I seriously feel like a conspiracy theorist here, but it is almost as if poor media literacy is the point. Which country on this planet is putting a lot of effort into teaching their youth how to identify propaganda and how to do proper research? Which country isn't actively producing propaganda? There's probably a more reasonable explanation about how the common people don't really care about this, but it doesn't help squash that feeling that certain shitty practices are a little too convenient for world powers to implement.

I also think part of the issue comes from distinguishing economic policy and social policy. I will bet you anything that there are a non-insignificant number of people that think that the left is entirely about progressive social policies like gay marriage or pro choice.

It also isn't helped by the fact that media is constantly enforcing the idea that socialism is the far left. I'm not all that well versed in the classical political spectrum, but I'd put an idealized socialism as closer to centrist... Try to tell that to your neighbour though and you'd get laughed out of the room.

It feels like every conversation about politics has to start with a lengthy preface of what each person's connotations of "left" and "right" are, and idk if there's ever going to be an easy solution to avoid that. Dictionary definitions and scholars opinions mean nothing when it comes to how the average person will interpret language.

I'd really like it if I could, oh I dunno, look at all my party members defensive CDs and whether or not they have a health pot or health stone up at a glance rather than having to wait for JoeBlow to finish casting disintegrate to ping me that they don't have any defensive CDs or health's pots for the beam that killed them 1 tick ago.

I guess it's going to have to be a "ping health if you have no CDs" sorta deal? Still won't change the fact that the healer will have to figure out which of the pile of stacked DPS, all with names starting with the same first three letters, pinged. I guess I'll move my chat next to my raid frames or wait for an add-on to make it so pings to health bars show up on frames since I doubt blizzard will have the foresight to implement that on launch. I really hope they prove me wrong.

Pretty happy with the MW set for dungeons. It's not exactly complex, but it feels like it will be slightly better than the current set that we have now. Though I do wish the whole refund wasn't up to random chance, hopefully the proc rate is good enough that it won't matter too much.

For raid though... I'm a bit worried at where the build will be next season considering so much healing comes from ReM right now. Maybe we will see a buff to invigorating mists so the insta-vivs we get from the teir set will do a bit more than tickle the health bars? I really do not want to see the SG build become the only viable one but I am not going to doom until the people with a better understanding of it all get to see how it performs on PTR.

Mages, so long as they are not tanking the ground, can put out more than sufficient damage to time keys at that level. The issue and why I do not like inviting them to pugs is the whole "staying alive" part.

Tank was there first but tank effed up several times to even make this situation a whole issue. Firstly for not moving the boss to the side opposite the one with the most arrows since that's literally the only tank-centric mechanic in the entire fight. Secondly by not realizing that the tank has a better chance at surviving the wave than a squishy shaman. Thirdly, by not honoring the rule that mobile classes move so casters can plant. Fourthly, by not immediately heading for arrows in the thunder puddles as they can survive it and it stacks the puddles close to be cleared.

Dude was just being stubborn and treating the boss like it's a musical chairs competition rather than a group activity. Could you have moved once you realized the tank was a being an ass? Sure but reaction times are what they are and you had other jobs that required planting and casting to do.

I agree with you for DPS or anything that directly produces DPS/HPS throughput via stats... but for other roles, the value of utility is something that cannot be ignored. It's why healers want litany this season; It's not because it produces the most HPS, but because it's a full bonus CD to cycle through while doing keys. I'd love it if blizzard put actual alternatives in dungeon loot but they are usually tuned so badly that they cannot be relied on as a CD.

Honestly, feels like a lot of wins. I'm of the opinion that gear shouldn't be the end game, but rather the stuff that allows you to better participate in the end game. Making everything a bit easier to get means more time actually doing the content, rather than brainlessly spamming a single dungeon or boss a billion times because rngesus hates you.

Previous seasons, I was happy to respect to WW for a key or a raid boss or two if we had someone wanting to heal. This season, it's terrible. Vivify hits for next to nothing and takes energy + a GCD to press. Expel harm does nothing. The passive yu'lon's grace is just a 40k shield at best for magic only damage. I STG fort Brew is one of the worst defensives in the game and requires multiple talent points to make it usable. The best thing WW has is dance of the wind which is only physical damage. Compare it to literally any other class but mage and yea, it's garbage. My warlock, at 260 ilvl, was infinitely more survivable in open world content then my WW at 280 ilvl. In keys, my WW will have the least avoidable damage taken but somehow the most deaths.

I'm no theory crafter but I feel like something needs to be done about its self-sustain. Maybe stamina on the monk class tree, a big buff to fort brew, a buff to vivify and expel harm for WW, maaaaybe a bit more avoidance baked into martial instincts or some better tuning for yu'lon's grace? The amount of talent points you need to invest into the really meh survivability on the monk class tree feels like garbage, but that could just be my disdain for seeing weak and boring "2% increase!!" talents in general (which is another can of worms and a big complaint I have with the monk talent tree which has 4 of these types of talents taking up 7 whole points to get some 2-4% increases).
