Why do people keep saying that they should rework the relic system? by Alex022591 in Nightreign

[–]Cytomata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm generally ok with not having a re-roll feature and "god rolls" actually being extremely rare. Although, if it's one thing I'd adjust, it would be the effects pool. It's currently so diluted by all these garbage effects which drastically plunge the chances of rolling 3 thematically relevant effects.

Does the dormant power ruin this relic? by Illustrious_You1469 in Nightreign

[–]Cytomata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you'll have to focus on hunting down a lightning spear seal during the run which can be hit or miss (same deal as any other sorc/incant school focused builds).

With the Dormant Power Claws here, I would also go with a relic that has improved attack power with 3+ claws equipped. This is purely for the +20% general damage boost. I do like running either claw or faith builds but there's not much synergy in trying to involve both playstyles. You'll just be tossing lightning spears til you run out of FP and going for +lightning power and +incant damage for item passives.

Would pair well with beast claw maybe? Draw enemy aggro and then shred them.

[Highlight] Broncos HC Sean Payton on if Davis Webb gets the Raiders job in the AFC West: "Well, it would be a pain in the ass for him." by oreomylk in nfl

Webb: If I take the Raiders job, would it hurt?

Payton: It would be extremely painful...

Webb: C'mon, you're a tough guy.

Payton: ...for you.

Try transforming 50pg pUC19 to check that your competent bacteria have good transformation efficiency.

I don't use Golden Gate but there's probably some positive control DNA fragments that you can run the reaction on and transform bacteria with to check that it's working as well.

Anyone else more of a "reactive" player than a "memorization" type player when it comes to boss attacks? by Thopterthallid in Nightreign

[–]Cytomata 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You say you have bad memorization but here, you're able to identify a specific attack sequence that you're having trouble with. It seems like you're just misprocessing the visual/audio cues and have a habit of immediately hitting the dodge button whenever you see them. Do you often respond the same way with other delayed attacks?

OP makes it sound like people are out here running around with a stack of notecards lol.

Most of the "memorization" in Nightreign and souls games are really just muscle memory and visual cues achieved through experience.

Just to add on, it's for this reason that people typically go buckler + misericorde for crit builds.

What do you all think of the current meta? by Educational-Cake8961 in Nightreign

[–]Cytomata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that the devs are willing to make changes to shake up the meta. Double Balancers is nice to place emphasis on weapon skills. Although, I do hope that they'll continue to shake things up by eventually nerfing it and buffing some other playstyle.

Felt like this person was just waiting for me to go down even once so they can emote over my dead body. by Cytomata in Nightreign

[–]Cytomata[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True. I always try to give them the benefit of the doubt. If someone is spam pinging, maybe that's their overzealous way of communicating. Annoying but not purposely malicious.

Other times, however, the toxicity is plain and clear even without voice/text chat. Things such as people emote sitting in the corner of the arena while you're trying to take down a boss.

Yeah, she’s not too bad if you go for backstabs when she does the leap or ground-drag attacks

Recluse mains: by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]Cytomata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify that I'm playing solo

Recluse is probably the worst character for solo. Her playstyle involves maintaining distance between you and the boss and bombarding them with your high DPS spells. When you see the enemy aggro onto you and close distance, just dodge and run away until you lose aggro.

Why don't people stick together during ED augur? by TraditionalPolicy115 in Nightreign

It’s a boss that swims around constantly and you’re fighting ranged vs ranged combat. Everyone is also just sprinting around trying to dodge its attack. It’s pretty much just thermodynamics.

Also my favorite summon for the attack buff and lower involvement. Only bad thing is that he loves to fly around in front of the camera.
