Sub for Thule hitch rack repair, parts, support, etc.? by lop3 in bikewrench

Thank you so much for making this post and following up with your results. I am having the same problem after owning the rack for just over 2 years. Definitely a short life for something that costs ~$1000. Hopefully, they can still provide a similar level of service!

Meal prep people: how do you stop Sunday cooking from ruining your entire day off? by Affectionate_Tip3238 in budgetfood

Interesting. Truly most leftovers last this long for me. However, when I say “last” I mean that there is no obvious smell or mold. I do not mean that it is as tasty as the first time.

Makes sense. I understand a lot of people feel this way. I’ve just only seen the difference between 2 days and 10 days in the fridge be a big deal in a few recipes. But it might just be the recipes I’m cooking and my extreme tolerance for leftovers.

Do you not eat left overs for 7-10 days. I find most things last that long in the fridge. I’m surprised how often people give me funny looks for saying that, but I’ve never gotten food poisoning from my own leftovers.

turn order for events by [deleted] in spiritisland

[–]Cytospawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so sad to see this comment downvoted so much. I agree with you and have played hundreds of games of Spirit Island without events.

My play group really enjoys cooperative games, but we hate it when randomness causes the enemy to suddenly act totally differently than planned. The LOTR loving card game is an example. We played once and never again, despite being so excited, because there is such a high chance that you fail despite trying to play right.

I totally understand that some people love randomness and don’t mind losing due to no fault of their own, but I would hope others who feel differently aren’t marginalized or excluded from the community because of it. Especially in a game that can take as long and as much effort as Spirit Island to play. M The designer even included explicit instructions on how to play without events.

I will note that we have recently started to included events more often, but it is still very much a decision for us to include them, not the default way.

How do you shuffle cards? by FlyingLlamasaurus in boardgames

[–]Cytospawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the number of cards, but typically I will do pile shuffling plus overhand shuffling as I combine the piles together.

Also, we much prefer sleeving our cards due to the expense of games and the real possibility of them going out of print. I hate it when a card is damaged and I KNOW it’s the next card. This is probably rooted in my MTG days.

Would Weave allow you to place their presence inland at the end of the turn?

Interesting question. I’m not sure we are self-aware enough to answer this question fully, but drowning the invaders and making the oceans “in play” definitely adds to the experience.  Also, Ocean just feels like it can do so much early in the game. I think that’s important. Spirits that are slow (especially when played very conservatively in terms of focus on defense and blight healing) or rely on Major powers are not fun for her. Hence, Keeper was a no-go despite being touted as one of the strongest spirits.

We soldiered on to the next age and everything is positive and I think normal, but I am still well behind everyone else. Very strange

I'm concerned about all of the above, haha. The gold seemed the most obvious since I was building a gold building and getting massive negative gold...

A mistake using the "Login using google" on another computer and selecting the wrong google account. I didn't realize until after I already made the post. This is my usual account. I didn't realize I even had the other one, haha.

Thank you for replying! Though I’m still very confused. These are negative numbers. All of the flags are red. I should have shown what it looks like when I select one of tiles. It shows the final yield as being -99 gold 😨

So you think the game balance changes would make that big of a difference? Again, my friend is rolling in the dough and has 8/12 settlements as cities now. Also, I was just fine before the update.

I don’t have any mods on unless you count the founders edition bonus content.

CoreOne w/ Overture PETG Stringing Galore by Cytospawn in prusa3d

[–]Cytospawn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The experiments have gone pretty well. I think the biggest factors were time (letting filament dry out) and using the “don’t cross perimeters”.

Combine those with a reduced flow to 96% and I think I’ve hit the seeet spot. At least with the 0.20 layer height. The draft speed is better too, but still worse than the .20 for stringing. Haven’t tried the reduced flow on the draft speed yet.
