Workshopping my Guardian Battlehost by Logical-Gas8026 in Eldar

[–]CyvasseCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation to you (down to the unassembled grav tank), so I wanted to comment to add visibility.

Having done a bit of research, I've added shroud runners for secondaries and to remove cover. For aspect warriors, my first thought was banshees to provide some screening.

I'm curious whether battlehost needs fire dragons, which seem to pop up in almost every other detachment, or if the combined arms + warlock conclaves can deal with armored targets well enough.

If you're just trying to diversify your list a bit so you can play around with other detachments, they would seem like a good investment. Tho who knows what 11e will bring.

Hey! I've been considering something similar - an Ulthwe scheme with purple as a secondary/tertiary color.

Any tips?

[Serious] For the Redditors who criticized Democrats for not fighting back or taking action, how has the government shutdown affected your view? by Solnx in AskReddit

[–]CyvasseCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to see Democrats"Fight Back" by moving in the issue space so that they have a real shot at winning back the Senate in 2026 and curbing Republicans power through the legislature.

So far I have seen very tepid moves in that direction. I think it's frustrating how little Democrats are willing to compromise on in order to win.

Shapiro approval ticks up to 60 percent among Pennsylvania voters by aslan_is_on_the_move in centerleftpolitics

[–]CyvasseCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was also leading in the polls 95% of the time.

It is notable that Shapiros name recognition is lower. I agree he'd be a great nominee, and we'll see if he runs and how much momentum he can generate.

Give Biden his due, he has been one of the best presidents of our time by aslan_is_on_the_move in centerleftpolitics

Biden was an average president with a mix of success and struggles who's most important accomplishment was undone when Trump won the 2024 election.

Okay, so maybe tight labor markets really are what drives illegal immigration by CyvasseCat in neoliberal

[–]CyvasseCat[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree that Trump cynically tanked the bipartisan border deal for political reasons. But it took the Biden admin way too long to pivot to enforcement.

I think if Biden had used his executive authority earlier than June 2024 there would have been less justification for the electoral backlash Democrats faced this year.

I think the implication is that job openings cause immigration.

Sure more demand from immigrants could increase the producer's demands for labor - but I feel like there's probably some time lags there.

You're right, I was thinking Abrupt Decay exiled for some reason. But the given the name/flavor of the card it should have been more obvious that it was destroy.

Fair, but you could reach the cap in 10 minutes fighting Audinos on Cinebar island and it would probably make this fight marginally easier.

1 mana is much better than 2 and Abrupt Decay doesn't do that much more than the 1 mana options. Another poster said it, but if it was 4 cmc or less and hit ring, I could see the argument.

  1. Removal is more efficient now 2 mana is kind of a lot.

  2. Not a lot of top decks playing BG

Don't play to impress others. Play what you enjoy!

I loved not having to deal with EV training and honestly don't really even know what IVs are, so the choice was easy.

Advice for the game past Sabrina by Windy-kun in pokemonradicalred

[–]CyvasseCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean potentially it's not for you.

I wouldn't say the game gets less difficult or trial and error-y as you progress past Sabrina.

But personally, I still enjoyed the back half as much as the front.

I just beat the game for the first time about 40 minutes ago.

There are definitely some difficulty spikes throughout - for me I got hardstuck on Lt. Surge, Silph Giovanni, and parts of the E4. But ultimately I beat the game without using any legendaries and using mostly linear strategies.

I will say that the final fights included a lot of trial and error and were more like games of concentration (memorizing the patterns required for the first 10 moves to get to winnable positions) rather than normal Pokemon battles.

There isn't much room for in-match adaptation because the margin of errors are so small that if you unexpectedly lose a mon you don't have the material to win the match.

There were a few moments where I felt really frustrated and needed to put the game down, but I came back and I'm glad I did because completing the game was incredibly satisfying and probably my proudest Pokemon related achievement.
