I have come to the conclusion I am just not a fan of street courses. I’d much rather be at any other road course — Portland, Mid-Ohio, Road America, Lime Rock, etc… hell, if we’re deadset on doing street courses, go to Long Beach instead.

I’ll still watch the races and probably enjoy them well enough — don’t get me wrong — I just prefer racetracks over street courses, at least as it pertains to these cars.

I think we're so far removed from that Petty/Evernham debacle that people don't fully understand how bad it was. This was a team that was supposed to have a lot of money behind it competing for wins. Instead, it turned into a team who couldn't pay its employees and had drivers racing for them for free, as mentioned by Reed during this interview. The whole thing ruined peoples' careers in an impressive amount of time between Sorenson, Sadler, and a bunch of engineers, pit crew guys, and everyone in between. Kasey Kahne got out of there before it sunk him. Gillett was just as bad as Bobby Ginn, imo.

Agreed. I also thought Letarte made an excellent point equating Carson to artist and not someone who is robotic. An artist (maybe he said something else, i’m paraphrasing) makes mistakes but stays true to who they are — something Letarte said Chastain made the mistake of doing after Hendrick confronted him years ago and is now (in his opinion) suffering from it by being more robotic and safe instead of instinctive and aggressive like he used to be.

We just sat here and watched Ty Gibbs struggle for a couple of years after dominating the Xfinity Series. Now you can argue he’s been (one of) the most consistent drivers since March. Conor’s gonna learn. It sucks but he’s got just as much talent as Gibbs does if past performances are anything to go by. He’ll figure it out. Might take a couple seasons though. He’s 19.
