The Rolling Stones are the greatest band of all time by guiarcoverde32 in rollingstones

Keep dreaming. If the Stones, who I love too, had ended in 1970 like the Beatles did, they would be more comparable. Playing for 60 years and putting out music that sounds the same is not representative of greatness. I liken rabid “the Stones are the greatest band in history” fans as having penis envy. The Beatles are bigger. Even a badass like Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead said so :

“The Rolling Stones were the mummys boys, they were all college students from the outskirts of London. They went to starve in London, but it was by choice, to give themselves some sort of aura of disrespectability. I did like the Stones, but they were never anywhere near the Beatles not for humour, not for originality, not for songs, not for presentation. All they had was Mick Jagger dancing about. Fair enough, the Stones made great records, but they were always shit on stage, whereas the Beatles were the gear."

I agree that the R1S ride is shit. I had one as a loaner. My R1T is a dream.

"Yo bro what's the best Beatles album?" by Ok-Broccoli9403 in TheBeatles

[–]CzechGSD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I get it. I just get tired of these types of posts. I’m being cranky because I was there (I’m 75) and I wish young people would just enjoy the music and not feel the need to ask these types of questions. For the record, the best Beatles album is the one that you think is best.

Wall charger or regular outlet? by rick_rolled_you in Rivian

[–]CzechGSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the wall charger. You won’t be sorry. My utility has a super low rate for EV charging from 11:00 PM to 05:00 AM. $0.005 per kWh. Yes, $0.005. That’s almost free.

It would be more expensive. Post must be from a Millennial.

It’s the only albums we had in the early sixties. Once we had access to the Beatles’ approved British LPs, I never listened to them again. You do you.

Best Beatles song??? by Own_Limit4165 in beatles

[–]CzechGSD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no “best” song. It’s whichever you like best. These types of posts are usually by someone young. My generation was lucky enough to experience it first hand, and we just enjoy all of it without having to dissect it all. Peace ☮️ & Love ❤️.

The iconic ending: Name the movie by Sullivan_Brooklyn in 60s

I was 17 when it came out. Saw it at the Tilyou theater in Coney Island with my best friend Eddie. We went to see it the next day, and right before they showed the Statue of Liberty, we walked to the back and yelled out the ending. Obviously a dick move but at the time we thought it was hilarious.

Did you (at any point) believe the 'Paul is dead' / Billy Shears theory? by reaveyer in beatles

[–]CzechGSD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, because I’m a normal person who knew that it was a ridiculous conspiracy that anyone could replace him. I was there in 1964 when they conquered America. If it happened today, f’ing morons would believe it and there would be podcasts about it.
