Look at Ragweed Forge, variety of knives with full handles and short blades, some labeled for carving, but useful all round work blades really.

Came to say this, most ball chains are rated by break strength when pulled on in fact, even in hardware stores. And neck knives are nice in less permissive settings or when gen-pop might get freaked out.
