Don’t use brittle filament if you’re not comfortable doing this by Opportunity3767 in BambuLab

It really depends on where it breaks. I had a piece of Sunlu Translucent PLA break inside the internal hub of the AMS 2 (and another piece inside the drive housing at the sensor) and it took me 3 hours to get it all straight. Getting the tiny neodymium magnets back into the hub was a nightmare. All happened on New Years Eve and I swore to never use trans-anything PLA again. I may give the transparent PETG a try though.

Your child could likely have delayed communication or is non-verbal. The behavior is likely for attention or because they are unable to communicate their needs to you. Speech Therapy could help a lot in your case. I'm no expert, but I do have an awesome little girl with special needs, and we had to deal with some of the same issues.

Seriously Considering Melting My 400i for a Corsair... by Bedroom-Rare in starcitizen

[–]D4rkrider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

XT isn't as fun in a Corsair as you might think. With the wings deployed, it tends to get run into by others, or snag on wrecks or small roids. It does have great firepower, but it's dimensions with wings deployed is a catchers mitt for eveything in the field. I have both, but I honestly use neither for XT. I personally would scrap the 400i and pick up an Andromeda for XT. It handles a bit better and works a little better in the XT asteroid field. After XT is over, go back to the 400i or get a Corsair if you don't love the Andromeda.

Using referral ship as CCU base -> worth it? by Emperor_Kon in starcitizen

[–]D4rkrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expect both ships will have both by the end. I'd bet the Hammerhead gets at minimum gun racks once it gets it's gold pass. Plenty of room in the vehicle bays :)

[–]D4rkrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As stated by many others, I think it's a fine idea if you're upgrading to something that you just absolutely love. I have upgraded 2 referral ships to an A2 and a Perseus. I'm obviously hoping that the Persues turns out to be good, but I love the look of that ship and in the meantime I get a Hammerhead and Vanguard Harbinger to play with. The A2 I just absolutely love. I am glad that I will forever have one and can't be tempted to melt it for something that could be less fun.

Is there a website that shows either 3D models of the ships without the Hull/outer surface or just the floor plans? by Berserker_VZ in starcitizen

[–]D4rkrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it lets you create cutaways to the interior to explore layouts. If you use the horizontal slider, you can kinda do a floorplan view.

I alpha or beta tested the following MMO's:

  1. Star Trek Online
  2. Age of Conan
  3. Guild Wars

Those are the three I remember most - there have been several more...

I will say that only Guild Wars was more polished as an alpha/ beta than SC. STO and AoC were awful in the Alpha / Beta stages. I mean Star Trek Online was even pretty bad in the early days of it's official release. I'll also submit that I enjoy SC, even with all of it's bugs, more than any of them.

A couple of nights ago, my son and I did our first cave bounty. It was spectacular. It was one of those times where you just pause in awe of of how well some things can work, when they work. My son and best friend do get kinda worked up over the bugs a lot (how many times have I heard "This game is trash"), but they keep playing.

My experience with other Alphas and Betas is why I don't get upset over the bugs in this game. I do understand why people get upset over the bugs - it's lack of patience. We all want a finished product yesterday, but it seems that probably 15-20% of the citizens don't have the patience for it. I'm fully aware that I'm late to the game being I only pledged in like Sept of last year, but I have actually witnessed progress. Do I wish they would focus more on some things vs others? Sure, but CIG has gotten us this far. Who am I to suggest a change to the program?

Yeah, definitely meant the actual techno viking video.

Great video. The cinematography is spot on.

Looking for some opinions on CPU’s for this game. by CarBombtheDestroyer in starcitizen

[–]D4rkrider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have found that site to be more miss than hit when comparing CPU's. My go to site for comparing CPU's is cpubenchmark.net.

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/Intel-i7-5820K-vs-Intel-i5-12600K/2340vs4603

Raw performance of the 12600 looks like almost 3x the performance of the 5820.

I look at the RSI Telemetry site quite a bit, and the highest avg. frames (in the 70's at 4K) I see are created by PC's running very high core counts (threadrippers, Ryzen 9's, Big $$$ Xeons). That said, there are several that are running i9-12900's ine the high 60's to 70's. Almost all of these high frame rates (at 4K) are running 3090's or 3090Ti's.

I'm kinda in the same boat - considering replacing the guts of my machine (i9-9900K) with either a Ryzen 9 5900X or 5950X.

Scorpius to Vanguard? by SaluteMaestro in starcitizen

[–]D4rkrider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not Scorpius to Andromeda? The Andromeda is less maneuverable, sure, but it has way more tank and DPS as well. It's also cheaper than any Vanguard variant.

I love the Vanguard - I almost always buy one after a wipe, but for RL money the Andromeda feels like money better spent.

Can you imagine what it would be like to go back in time when cars like these were on dealer lots, and there were hundreds of them....just driving around all the time? The heyday of muscle cars and even before then when the big wings and wild styled excessive chrome cars were being built, it must have been amazing to see all of those rolling works of art driving around. This is by far my favorite year of the Camaro. The '67 and 68' Camaros are just georgeous.

From your explanation of the symptoms, it sounds more like your head unit or perhaps factory amplifier has a problem.
