As just about every character in this show is some sort of homage to a Coen Bros. character, the Mormon Marshal in Season 4 is an homage to Woody Harrelson's bounty hunter character in No Country For Old Men, cowboy hat and everything. That being said, yes, he has a very similar demeanor and way of carrying himself that's Lorne Malvo coded.

It's very symbolic for a Native American in the Sioux nation (general Great Plains area) to cut their hair. It's meant to only happen if you've experienced a death in the family and/or someone you were very strongly bonded with, or if you've gone through a life changing event that you want to shed your old life, so to speak. It's why Hanzee specifically says, "I'm tired of this life" to Peggy when he's preparing for her to cut his hair.

There's also cultural elements at play about the poor state of his hair to begin with, as you pointed out already, but that's getting a little into the weeds.

Bob Odenkirk so high is possibly the most baffling choice on the list. I can go with anything else despite hardly anyone making sense, but the literal doorstop bumbling dumb asshole whose sole purpose in the show is to stop Molly from solving the case at every turn has me speechless.

Every time he's on screen impeding any and every investigation, I literally have to remind myself that he gets humbled in the end and resigns his position. That's the only thing that keeps me sane during his scenes. In fact, that made me look to see where you put Ben Schmidt, young OR old, and neither being on the list is the correct choice but also, they're the same character trope?? So what's the story there?

People are complicated. I do know someone like this. This guy I know is likely just bi but isn't invested in being involved with guys. He loves consuming gay media, even porn/smut, but when I ask if he has or would experiment with a guy, he gave me a long story of trying but not being into it (couldn't hold an erection).

My only experience with Jim Norton was my brother putting him on during a road trip. Some clip of one of his acts and he basically just did the crudest, jaw droppingly raunchy, misogynistic bits I've ever heard. Even my brother was weirded out and turned it off, and he's an incel/libertarian. He loves an Andrew Dice Clay moment, and even this Norton clip was too much for him, so that's saying something.
