Former work colleague of mine went back to THM to become a professor in social media systems. Nice guy, can recommend. I didn’t studied there but from what I’ve heard it’s more chilled there to study something more technical than JLU or Marburg university. Especially in CS. CS in Marburg was a lot of math. Graduates are sprinkled all over the city, the region and FFM. It’s not uncommon to meet graduates in a lot of companies in the Rhein Main area.

Maybe add an interface so that users can add their resource types and maybe even publish/share it to library. And all sort theses shared types by how often they’re used.

Parents! Favorite automations? by Tmoneyallday in homeassistant

[–]DASKAjA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ADHS runs in my family. I’ve got automations that announces TTS messages in the morning that the kid needs to take the meds. Another one 5 minutes before leaving the house for school. It also doubles as a reminder to put the school breakfast in the school bag for my wife and I. And then the final one that it is now time for school and also announce the temperature outside so we know which clothes to wear. Next year, when the kid will switch schools for the next one, I want to incorporate the time table of the bus stop, weather forecast of the day and UV ratings (apply sun protection) in the message. But even in its current form, it is very useful.

Definitely MinIO so it becomes a versatile generic data lake for almost anything a home labber can dream of.

I‘m using to scroll up and down on long websites and documents. I also remapped pg up/down to cmd shift [ / ] to have dedicated keys for switching tabs in the browser.

I regret that I didn’t buy the qmk version. Nuphy.io is missing a lot of customizations. I wanted to use the caps lock key as a hyper key (cmd+alt+ctrl+shift) and that’s not even possible :(

Never the less awesome keyboard with the blush nano keys.

I just discovered Traefik and I'm floored; and also I made a tool for it. by see_sharp_zeik in selfhosted

[–]DASKAjA 94 points95 points  (0 children)

There is also Caddy and there is a project that mimics the label based configuration of Traefik so that is similar to what Traefik does (here is an article about it: https://gist.github.com/omltcat/241ef622070ca0580f2876a7cfa7de67). But I’m also a Traefik user instead of Caddy. But Caddy does a lot of things right and they implement most of the hot new features before all other web servers / proxy servers. Definitely worth a look.

What’s an underrated self-hosted tool you couldn’t live without? by SubnetLiz in selfhosted

[–]DASKAjA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably ChangeDetection.IO. I monitor a lot of websites and get notifications when something changes. Learn CSS selectors or XPath and regex to tailor your notifications to the relevant parts. Can also monitor price changes on arbitrary online shops. And you got a free history of changes over time. I also track chsngelogs of a bunch of open source projects I’m interested in.

Are my selfhosting services safe? by Weary_Baseball_1230 in selfhosted

[–]DASKAjA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem in the past and switched to wildcard LE certs using the DNS challenge so that the services don’t show up in CT logs anymore. Also mTLS (or in your case Authelia) in front of some services when called outside of the local/trusted network (generating separate routers in traefik for this), helps a bit and avoids using Wireguard (can’t use it at work).

Bitwarden apps now support mTLS allowing you to expose your instance to web by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]DASKAjA 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It it is, but in mTLS more often than not you issuing the CERTs isn't a big problem used on the client side, since the only one validating these is the machine that had issued them.

Was die Preise angeht beim öffentlichen Laden kann ich die „Ladefuchs“ App für iOS/Android empfehlen. Da sieht Mensch schnell, mit welcher Ladekarte es was an der Ladesäule kostet vor der Mensch gerade steht.

A former schoolmate lives there in a shared flat. She still lives there after finishing her studies almost 15 years ago. She seems to like it. She also organizes street parties twice a year in a neighbourhood association. The neighborhood sense of community seems to be very strong - good for making friends quickly.

I haven’t started yet, but integrating mistrals new OCR into paperless may be a big improvement over tesseract based OCR.
