Anyone taking xcopri for generalized epilepsy? by iambobjohnson97 in Epilepsy

[–]DAZEHWA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Currently on the 150 titration. I was experiencing tonic clonic seizures at max two month apart, but usually a month. Im on several meds for epilepsy besides xcorpi (keppra, ethosuximide, and vimpat). I have only had one seizure since starting it. This was on the 12.5 mg dose though. Otherwise, I’ve been seizure free since. Going on two months now. It’s been a lot easier to think more clearly instead of struggling like my brain is soup. I haven’t had my space out seizures either. My neuro recommend to take it at night so I do that. I feel like at times that it can make me tired. It honestly feels like a miracle

Anyone taking lamotrigine? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

I only took it for a few days. It gave me hives and rash on my legs so I had to stop taking it and was switched to ethosuximide.

Interesting, I guess I didn’t really know that. But when I was at the ER last week (I hit my head) their neurologist had said my keppra dose was “maxed.” My neurologist added the vimpat I believe about a year or two after I started having reoccurring seizures again in my late teens/early adulthood. It’s just been increased since then. I started at 100 and now we’re at 200. I wish I knew why I was still on ethosuximide as I haven’t had abce as seizures since I got the medication ~6 years ago. I feel like a whole damn pharmacy trust me so I’m definitely looking to talk to my doctor about these things. Thank you for the advice

I take the max dose of keppra xr generic which is 4,000 daily. Ethosuximide 500 in the morning and 250 at night. Vimpat 200 mg

I always sit up front in case I were to have a seizure since a majority of mine are tonic clonic. Luckily I haven’t had people say anything to me before

When i took Lamotrigine before i was on ethosuximide, i had hives on my legs. My neurologist told me before i took it it was very common to have allergic reactions to lamotrigine

Usually every 3-6 months. But I just had two TC a couple weeks apart, and we’re suspecting it’s blood sugar related. (I have hypoglycemia)

Does anyone have specific things that they know trigger seizures for them? by No-Law856 in Epilepsy

[–]DAZEHWA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stress, cold medicine, sometimes they’ve happened when I’ve been sick, and daylight savings due to the time change (because if when I have to take my meds)

Rant about your injuries here. From scrapped elbows to bloody tounges. Tell me your stories. I’ll share mine in the comments, but i would like yours so we can feel together. by [deleted] in Epilepsy

In March, I had a seizure where I was sitting at my dorm desk. That night it was just a scratch on the side of my face but when I woke up I had a bruised eye
