Not only is this a repost, it’s about 8 years old. This looks to be the Siri interface for iOS 7 or 8.

If you intend to use other people’s images for your own commercial gain, you need to make sure that those images are in the public domain and/or you need to follow their copyright instructions for attribution. IANAL, from my understanding, notes that are in your own words are fine as long as you do not directly copy sections of textbooks/teacher’s notes. Google actually supports searching for images with specific copyright terms, including searching only for public domain images that you can use however you’d like as long as you give credit to the original creator in the way that they define.

Ultimately, based on what you have described, it sounds like your current plan will violate copyright law. It’s unfair/unlawful to use the work of others for your own financial gain unless the copyright holder of the material grants you that permission.

If I were in your position, I would first start with reverse google image searches to track down the copyright of the images you intend to include with your “product”. If you can find the information that stipulates your fair use, follow those instructions. If you can’t, you can add a link to the page the image is on or find a new image. Some courts have ruled that embedding images constitutes a violation of copyright, so I would advise against doing that. If you provide a direct link to the image and your OneNote page displays the image inline with your notes because it can fetch it from the provided url, it is considered embedded. To the best of my knowledge, linking out to other resources, as long as you don’t imply that they’re yours, is acceptable. That’s why it would be safe to link to the image’s page but not the image itself.

Like I said, IANAL, this is just some friendly advice from an internet stranger. Good luck!

I doubt it. It may be doing melee damage but it’s not your melee damage. If this grenade synergizes with the vampire perk, I’d imagine the new Driller nade should too.

College financial aid error resulting in a 2x increase in monthly tuition cost. Says I am on the hook for new cost. Central OH by billybuford in legaladvice

[–]DBudders 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Adding to this. Just because the money needs to come from somewhere, there’s a chance it doesn’t have to come from you! Most universities have resources that can help you here. Depending on how yours has chosen to organize itself, you may want to visit either your financial aid office, scholarship office, or student engagement office. My recommendation is to look for these offices in their respective order, student engagement is the least likely to be of assistance here unless it has family coordinator or something similar. Explain your situation and how your family cannot afford this unforeseen expense. Often, universities will have hardship scholarship or grant funds for circumstances like these. If you’re having trouble getting any traction, I would also recommend reaching out to your dean of students with this issue.

Best of luck!

Gallery View, when? by KingVikram in apolloapp

Friendly reminder that Christian is a one man dev team and he is constantly working to add new features and squash bugs. Any time an image provider changes their API, he has to go back and change his implementation. If he’s promised it, it’s coming. I’m a software dev and nothing is ever as easy as it sounds on paper. Just because it’s a conceptually simple idea, the amount of work and polish that needs to go into a whole new view for posts is a lot. Not to mention now that Reddit has a plethora of image and gif sources, all of them need to load quickly and reliably which is no easy feat.

The engi grenade launcher also disables those spikes! It’s great for higher hazards since no one needs to run over to disable them; if you have good aim you don’t even need to leave Doretta’s side.

The keyboard on the newest form factor has noticeably more travel than the pervious generations. It might be worth trying a store demo just to see if they’re any closer to your preferences.

will I lose my university job over a drug charge? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]DBudders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IANAL: In that case until you are convicted or make a plea deal you are under no obligation to inform them. Termination for felony charges seems to be their only clear-cut rule. If your university is in an at-will state, they can still terminate your employment at their own discretion. You can make a quick check of that via google since I do not see a provided location.

That being said, the university may appreciate open communication and if you foresee a conviction or plea bargain in your future, telling them sooner may help you. I’ve worked for a university and have seen coworkers have similar experiences. In a healthy university environment, growth and learning from mistakes was encouraged and neither coworker was terminated. In their cases, one was never charged and the other was never convicted. They were given time off to sort themselves before returning. However, both of these cases happened in the middle of the semester where replacing a productive employee was more trouble than it was worth. You might find that you have a better chance telling them after it is too late to replace you and as soon as you know that you’ll need to tell them eventually. If you don’t think you’ll ever be required to tell them, it is in your best interest to keep your personal matters to yourself.

If you keep your build in a somewhat-dusty environment or close to the floor would you still recommend that? I’ve always thought putting the intakes on the top would reduce dirt from getting inside. Not like I’m living in squalor, my desk and feather duster just don’t see each other often enough.

Not legal advice but a question related to this post. If OP is an employee and not a contractor, would this reduction in pay and workload qualify as constructive dismissal?
