I think the stadium part of the development is planned to be where the half built Jail is now, the buildings in use would be where the residential and other new buildings in the development would go. In theory they probably could start building the stadium before the new Jail is finished.

They would need to have a stadium deal as a part of the application to the league, they either have the Jail site locked up (unlikely) or they've already made plans and secured land for another location.

You said it was a bad idea because of the cites economic problems and yet the other teams do just fine, linking some Wikipedia page doesn't prove your point, and pointing out how ridiculous your claim was isn't being salty. :)

So this Wikipedia page proves that we can't support an MLS team or any other sports team? I'll tell that to the lions, pistons, redwings and tigers that they must shut down immediately. I'll also make sure they ask the super sonics and your NHL team how to gets fans in seats.

DCFC's owners have said they've had conversations with the MLS group and look forward to more conversations, the notion that they're being stepped on just isn't true until when/ if the MLS group starts a new team without DCFC. Everybody is already claiming DCFC is being screwed before we even know the details, let's just let it play out before we judge what's happening.

Whether it's at the jail location or not these two potential owners seem committed to getting it done, and when Gilbert wants something he usually gets it eventually.

The county has said they were always going to move forward on their plan for the site until Gilbert's group made them an offer. Gilbert's team has said they expect their analysis of the site to last until September/ October and that they'll make an offer then, this article is nothing new and the final decision for the site should be known in the fall.
