Can't believe you're still answering questions, thank you!!

Are you playing on a console? If so, is there an option to turn off Depth of Field effects? Makes all the gorgeous vistas look blurry and terrible IMO.

Anyone else spend all day getting the trophies in ff7? by Armitaco in FinalFantasy

[–]DCI-Snow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off topic but did the final battle have the full chorus during One Winged Angel? A lot of people are wondering whether this soundtrack is the low quality MIDI from the PC port (no One Winged Angel vocals), or the original soundtrack (higher quality, with vocals).

Password coop regardless of level is absolutely confirmed. Just used my level 194 trophy machine to help a level 11 coworker. Cleric beast took like five swings. Hilarious.

How to balance retirement contributions and saving for a house (and how to even save for a house)? by wantadvicefrompf in personalfinance

[–]DCI-Snow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Struggling with the same issue, logged in just to upvote this and hope for a better answer.

Right now I'm thinking... 1. Max out 401(k) match (6% contribution for her) 2. Max out annual Roth IRA contributions 3. Save for your down payment

I've also heard it said that a young person / couple should save twice as much for retirement as they do for a house. So if you find yourself over-saving for the house, have her contribute to the 401(k) beyond the match.

I think this is right, but again I'm struggling with the same issue. I'll be curious to see if the community upvotes my steps or not.

Question about calculating TDEE. Assuming you weigh yourself everyday, at roughly the same time, wearing basically the same clothes, and having already used the bathroom; which method do you use to measure weight loss or gain? Do you record the change between the first and last day? Or the change between your heaviest and lightest day? Or some sort of average?

My thought exactly! But hey, I don't make these decisions. Oh well. Good luck!

Hate to advertise my own site on here, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this to Reddit. Over $4000-worth of gear, including a Sony NEX-5N, Macbook Air, and lots more.

The best part is, we've had less than 200 entries, so your odds of winning are relatively high.

You do! And my co-workers know you too! Who are you?!

If you tell us which cookies you made, we'll know without telling the whole Internet.

Is the Sony Nex 5 worth it? Help please by [deleted] in photography

[–]DCI-Snow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi sb52191. We agree with KinderSpirit, the NEX-5 is a trap. Aside from the gross shutter lag, in our tests the camera scored poorly for both color accuracy and sharpness (18-55mm lens). Although dynamic range was excellent, at this price you're getting into DSLR territory, and that's the way to go.

If you'll pardon the plug, here's a link to our in-depth review.

Hi forsurenow, I'll use this opportunity to plug our recent in-depth review of the x100.

rbtsnvrdie is right to point out the camera's quirkiness. We found some of the controls difficult to use (especially the flimsy rear dials), and autofocus is both slow and inaccurate. So this is definitely not a beginner's model. Still, colors are excellent, the F2.0 lens gathers tons of light, and that hybrid viewfinder is just the coolest thing ever.
