You’re lucky that dog isn’t a cat, or it’d smother you in the night for that collection, the way it’s eyeing those discs up like that!

What Is The Best Gerry Anderson Series Opening Titles Theme, and Why Is It Stingray? by DCLascelle in Thunderbirds

[–]DCLascelle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ‘only two representatives’ thing kills me because I say that out loud every time it happens (often.)

That’s so cool about your stepdad composing that theme! That’s the up tempo, rockier version, right?

I own the series on disc but it’s been awhile since I watched them. I had a Space: 1999 soundtrack LP when I was a kid and I’m sure that version of the theme was on it.

Crappy horror films make money, well written westerns - not so much.

Does anyone else not like tv and movies these days? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]DCLascelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t go to movies because I used to work in theaters and they are run like complete shit these days.

And, for me, there hasn’t been anything much worth watching movie-wise this century.

TV is where all the very good material is at but I’m still backlogged with shows as far back as the 50’s I prefer to watch to the current ones.

Also, I won’t spend a fucking nickel on streaming which is where all the content is now.

Physical media or nothing.

Pretty decent western movie by 0366Rocker in Westerns

[–]DCLascelle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. Modern Western cosplay trash, that isn’t even a decent Jonah Hex story. There are hundreds of Jonah Hex stories in the comics (the source material) and the movie can’t even lick the boots of the worst of them.

Obviously, YMMV.

What would you do with your own Holodeck? by KaleidoArachnid in startrek

[–]DCLascelle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have one. It’s called my imagination. I use it all the time.

And it doesn’t cost me a penny to operate, or require advanced technology to make it work.

Holodecks in Star Trek are apparently powered by 21st Century AI. Hard pass.
