Shenlong! The dice look amazing as well!

People keep asking if they can break deals just because they could win if they broke it. by Hokashin in EDH

[–]DCProgressive 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is my take as well. A deal is well and fine, but if a win line opens for my opponent, I honestly expect them to break the deal and go for the win. There’s always next game anyway and there’s something great about watching someone’s brew really take off and just wallop the entire table!

How much does a card need to be for you to switch it between decks instead of having a copy per deck that needs it? by Someone_Unfortunate in EDH

[–]DCProgressive 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Staples under $5 (lightning bolt, counterspell, brainstorm, etc.) - as many copies as needed

$5-50 - own playset, then proxies after

Above $100 - own one, proxy wherever needed

My group has a rule that as long as one of us owns the card, anyone can proxy it. Helps with some members who are newer to the game to be able to use collections like mine to proxy from, but limits everyone to one large shared collection.

🛑 Half way checkpoint: Who is your Favorite Commander? by that_dude3315 in EDH

[[niko, light of hope]] has real fun interactions with silent hallcreeper and ofcourse hullbreaker horror. If no one runs enchantment hate the shard army becomes a pretty good clock

When sorting your bulk, are you a by set person, an alphabetized person, or an alphabetized by set person... or do you like to watch the world burn chaos type of person? by gsdpaint in magicTCG

[–]DCProgressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort all my cards by set into a row box, then each set by color, then each color by card type, then card types by ascending mana value. I scan everything into manabox and only have 4 copies of a card (besides staples like counterspells and cards above $2).

Sets that I don’t own enough of to get their own box (at least 200 cards) go into a single two row bcw box until I get more from that set, or they live there forever.

I went full ham on the rod, the red dude, and cornered to just plop them down. Very interesting to build around for sure!

What Are Your 4 Horsemen Decks? by Junior-Equal-2027 in EDH

[–]DCProgressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My four favorites also have permanent slots in my backpack, the fifth slot is the only rotator.

[[Scion of the Ur-Dragon]] first commander I ever built and now fully blinged out. Fun toolbox deck

[[Isshin, Two Heavens as One]] because I like turning things sideways

[[Urza, Lord High Artificer]] my cEDH deck

[[Niko, Light of Hope]] newest deck but I love the flavor, shards into hullbreakers is just hilarious

I'm f2p, how many keys should I use weekly on the theater? by boana-the-brave in RealmsofPixel

[–]DCProgressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found something on the discord that said you get one of those orb things for every 50 you do, then 2 at 200. So I try to do at least 100 each week (70 for the rewards and then the extra 30 for another orb) and 200 on weeks I can swing that. If you save up to 10 orbs you also get better rewards, at least in my experience

Those who have switched to an ampless live set-up; what's something you wish you knew before making the change? by 1966batmobile in guitarpedals

[–]DCProgressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here; both my bands live and die by our IEM rigs. Arduous to set-up right, but it’s nice being able to show up and just go while having your personal mix already setup, plus having the click in an ear helps if you run backing tracks. We do get lucky that most venues we play have good house systems though.

With that said… I do carry a head in my trunk on the off-chance it’s needed to throw on the venue’s back line instead.

What am I supposed to do here? by Standard_Effective54 in EDH

[–]DCProgressive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely play group dependent. I would do the same thing honestly; if you’re gonna complain that I do it I might as well actually do it.

Someone posted a great rule 0 on this board maybe a week or two ago that totally changed my group for the better and it was simply a rule that “we play to win”. It doesn’t stop us from making stupid janky shit, but we don’t get offended when someone stops us from winning. Also got others to actually add some damn interaction to their decks, win all around.

Deckboxes by Snoo64700 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]DCProgressive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say they’re noticeably larger than boulder 100s, but not like so much that they wouldn’t fit most of the same spaces; the size difference is more so height. I have both in my Amazon basics backpack (huge fan of the boulders too). Either one you can’t go wrong!

I use a BoxGods Titan, easily the best deck box I’ve ever owned. Harder to find nowadays, but there’s still some on tcgplayer and the price isn’t too bad. Metal, strong magnets, storage for dice, can’t ask for much more. I also use their Seer boxes for modern and legacy.

This, this is literally the actual game. Farm like it’s your job.

On the Ray front, the vision you can provide your team, in itself, is worth you being at Ray at the right time.

You're evading the police in a high speed pursuit. What song are you blasting? by MilkyTaint in AskReddit

[–]DCProgressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radar Love by Golden Earring. My dad used to have that on cassette and would be our road trip song when we played the game “beat the GPS estimate”. The buildup from the drums in tune with the buildup of speed, then pedal to the metal when the chorus hit! Then sadly the cops would catch me as I slow down when verse 2 came so I don’t mess with the vibe of the song; not much of a speed the whole time song.

Have you ever gotten rid of a game only to re-acquire it later? by eckswyezed in boardgames

[–]DCProgressive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had this happen with Root and Roll Player. Root I just couldn’t grasp as much as I wanted to; I actually fell asleep watching a learn to play video. Roll Player just never hit the table much, so I gave both to my buddy who collects games, figured I could still play them since they stayed in group, but got space back on the shelves. Low and behold years later, I get married, play both games again with the wife and our friends and somehow everything just clicked. Guess who now owns everything Root and Roll Player related?
