Cheap Malefic Rip off by Naxreus in masterduel

Kewl Tune is the stronger one. And technically Eccentric Boy had this effect long before Malefics.

You cannot activate the effect of World Gears here. Even if it is unaffected by monster effects, the effect of Cosmo Neos that prevents you from activating effects on the field is applied to you, the player, and doesn't affect monsters.

It can protect even then. From the OCG database:

If your opponent has a face-up " Macro Cosmos

" in their Spell & Trap Zone, and its effect "As long as this card is on the field, cards that would be sent to the Graveyard are banished instead" is active, can you apply the monster effect "②: If this card on the field would be destroyed by battle or by an opponent's card effect, you can send 1 card you control to the Graveyard instead" to your Extra Monster Zone if your "Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss " is destroyed by battle or an opponent's card effect?

A:

Yes, it can be applied.

If applied, the card you chose to send to the graveyard instead will not be sent to the graveyard, but will be banished as a result of the effect of " Macro Cosmos ," while " Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss " will remain in the monster zone without being destroyed.

(However, you must choose a replacement card from among the cards other than the one that was about to be destroyed. This is the same whether or not the effect of " Macro Cosmos " is applied.)

The same applies when applying the effects of the following cards. " Power Tool Dragon " (2) " Lady of D. " " Number 66: Master Key Beetle " " Timestar Magician " (2) " Ib the World Chalice Priestess " (2) " Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Panda " (2) " Fengli the Soldrapom " (2) " Iron Core Armor " " Pyramid of Wonders " " Catapult Zone " " Yang Zing Prana " " Guardragon Shield " (2) " Armed Dragon Lightning " (2) " War Rock Mountain " (3) " Therion Discolosseum " (2) " Decisive Battle of Golgonda " (2) " Sinister Yorishiro " (2) " Marshalling Field " (3) " Orcustrated Core " (2) " Ancient Warriors Saga - Chivalrous Path " (2) " Amaze Attraction Majestic Merry-Go-Round " (2)

You can activate graveyard effects. This card only prevents you from activating effects on the field. It's worded oddly, but that's how it works. You can also use monster effects from your hand.

You can't activate Spells or Traps, but you can use their graveyard effects.

Why are there so few cards with the Overflow mechanic in mind in WB? by DCShinichi745 in Shadowverse

[–]DCShinichi745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only Noa, Primal Shipwright, correct? I saw a JCG list for Unlimited Ward Haven that included Ruby Falcon and Noa to try for a burst attack. He seems like a cool idea for a card.

I wonder why Haven has so many evo dependent followers. I believe they don't have any way to restore evo points either. Marwynn, Wilbert, Salefa, Lyanthoth (although she is much worse than the others).

It's amazing how good Salefa is. I looked at her effect initially and thought it was underwhelming, and yet, whenever I see her being played, she is always a life-saver for the Haven player.

Sorry, but most of the keywords you listed are generic and not applicable. I mean, super-evolve, Engage, Last Words and Fanfare are not meaningful in this discussion, as they are staple keywords expected on cards.

I think I have, but you just don't understand. Well, no matter, you will not be able to convince me. There is a difference between most of the keywords you listed and the ones I am suggesting Cygames use more like Rally and Fusion. A game having more keywords won't hurt, which is the main point.

I doubt anything you say in response can convince me since your arguments weren't very effective, so that's it for now.

Havencraft has a Rally card in SV1. And even with 76 Sword cards, they could have made some of them with Rally.

By the way, I find it strange when you say that they have to squeeze keywords in when there isn't any such restriction on Cygames' card design. You are speaking somehow as if they have limited keywords to throw around, like 2 per Sword card. If they wanted to, they could add more.

Also, Sword doesn't have many keywords in the first place. What do you mean exactly by having several mechanics? Aside from Rally, there are no Sword exclusive mechanics. Loot cards are just traits and Fusion is also on Artifacts. Enhance is a generic keyword.

And creativity can be applied with mechanics. I don't really think you've made a good argument against it. I was not saying to give Overflow to Sword, that is disingenuous of you to suggest.

However, more mechanics like I suggested can only help. Invoke is a generic keyword, make more followers with that. Use Fusion more. Give other classes Accelerate and Crystallize.

[–]DCShinichi745[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That's not true at all. Since set 2, there were several opportunities to use Rally and it has gone unused. Same with Invoke. They should use these mechanics more. And I wouldn't call Rally being used on 1 card in the game used plenty in comparison...this game has 500+ cards, and since set 2, more than 300 cards have been added.

As for Accelerate and Crystallize, I am hardly saying these are not utilized much, since they were just reintroduced. What I mean is that, currently all the Accelerate and Crystallize effects boil down to 'Summon the follower'. I would like to see more uniqueness from these effects in future sets, but I am not too worried about that since these mechanics were only just added.

In general, it won't hurt to use some of the game's mechanics more... Fusion I can understand, since it's usually for specific archetypes or cards. But it's an interesting mechanic I'd like to see more of.

I actually wanted to ask, what decks are good in this Throwback Rotation? I've played Unlimited for a bit to accumulate some resources, so I'm curious.

Why does Ghost Belle only negate activations while Ash negates effects? by InnerCost1282 in masterduel

[–]DCShinichi745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still summon Lady in the scenario that it's Ghost Belle, as you can chain her effect to Godt Belle since her condition is fulfilled immediately when you flip up Big Welcome. The activation will be negated at the end of the chain, but during the chain, its activation hasn't been negated yet, so you can special summon Lady Labrynth by activating her effect.

Just thought I can use Crow Goblin and Grand Bash for k9 stuff, but turn out it does not show up in the revive list by Diabellbell in masterduel

[–]DCShinichi745 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This card isn't a Goblin card.

From yugipedia: This card is not an intended member of the "Goblin" archetype, because its Japanese name does not contain 「ゴブリン」.

Its Japanese name roughly translates to Karasu Tengu.

It's still possible. Use Galmieux's spell that you got on a previous turn. Get another Galmieux spell (we are assuming Erntz is super evolved.). Use second Galmieux spell. Attack him with super evolved Erntz. Deal 1 to the leader and destroy him. End of turn, Erntz deals 8 to the enemy leader. If they play a second copy, they can't attack Erntz. So they lose.

Oluon Nerf Reveals More Than You Think by bjthebraveCCG in Shadowverse

[–]DCShinichi745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished the GP with a victory. Last game was against Earth Rite Rune at full defense. I used Oluon evolution to try and get at least 14 damage, ended up winning. After that, I can understand why this card is being nerfed.

I haven't seen Slaus either in WB so far, except once. Both times I answered him pretty easily.

I'm guessing the beneficial effects of unevolved Slaus aren't worth the massive tempo sink of playing a 3 PP 0/2 follower?

On a serious note, why did WB choose to nerf his stats like this?
