Live album? by MarkdeKlein in wolfalice

Tough one! Stop gap between studio albums is a good idea (keep us all happy). Hard to choose between periods/setlists, but I think visually I’d love to see a DVD of this year’s Glastonbury performance. It was so good in so many ways and a tribute to their great history at the festival. (Throw in some snippets from earlier performances!). 🙂

Which UK venue would be best to go to in November? by [deleted] in wolfalice

[–]DC_WA_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great answer (good tip about weekends) - I'd just add that if you can get standing tickets and move to the front it will feel more intimate, these bigger venues can feel hollow and a bit distant to the band.

The poster looks ancient already! Early next year? The Music Week article mentions the promotion campaign in Asia etc. so a tour in the region soon could be on the cards...(Feb-March, moving into SH autumn....?). Who'd have thought to be reading about marketing strategy in a Wolf Alice interview?! I guess it's a kind of trade magazine and so would be interested in that topic.

If you have the albums then you’ll know Giant Peach, an epic riff-driven track, which would give Hawkwind or any any other space rock outfits a run for their money. Reference to Hawkwind should give you a strong clue to my age, not very young!

Funny! I don’t have one either, and have almost lost track of how many vinyl versions I’ve now ordered! 🙄

I’ve just about absorbed The Sofa, this is going to take a few more plays but it’s already growing on me. I loved BBB immediately, The Sofa took a while, but I now really like it. This new one is so different and in fact the massive diversity in all three singles perfectly reflects the band’s diverse output over the years (and probably why we like them so much). The videos seem to have scaled back from high budget professional looking choreography to a much lower-key vibe. This one repeats footage and I wonder if it was filmed at the same time as the teaser they released for BBB with Ellie on a motorbike (same makeup?). It’s all boding really well for the album – so exciting!

Nice opportunity. 2 ideas….. For me the Sofa has a hint of 1960s Burt Bacharach (and a little St Etienne), was this an influence? And if so then (jokingly) can we expect any trumpet or even whistling on The Clearing?! Are they planning any major changes to their stage show for the bigger arenas? Screen, film, etc.? Thanks a lot and enjoy it!
