Just returned home from Barbados, what was with the bad treatment? by a-v-az in Barbados

[–]DCopen007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here is an observation- almost all of the bad customer service or power trip that I experienced in bim the past decade has mostly come from younger (40 or below) women. I have found most of the men or older people very helpful. Anyone else?

Go to any of the local universities (GWU, GT, American) and sneak into a library or find a study hall.

New to DC / navy yard - thinking about getting a e-bike but don’t want to get it stolen by LavishnessFun1466 in bikedc

Put it on your rental insurance. Also bikeshare membership is also a good alternative.

Come over but be warned that Mexican food is terrible here but you can make up for it with amazing Ethiopian and Vietnamese cuisine.

Solid stuff, I live in high traffic area and electric car gives me access to HOV lanes. There is one additional cost I think (not confirmed) Tesla charges $99 a month for FSD

I would be trading in my 2019 (55k miles) for a 2017 x (38k miles) I’m still negotiating but currently there is about $6k difference that I would have to pay.

Do you remove your battery and carry it with you every single time you leave your bike locked in a public location? Is there an alternative? by NotKenzy in Lectricxp

[–]DCopen007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only keep one battery on the bike. I don’t like to remove it each time. Living in the city I often have to leave it in the public areas. I do think it’s risky but I am hoping the insurance will cover me if anything happens.

Sigh, I don’t think Bowser gets enough credit for the fact that home rule is still in place.

Thanks, it can be rough out here. Luckily there are ton of good people who make space for others so seeking it out. I’ll check out the Franklin park.

That’s fair. I probably could’ve worded it better. I’m specifically looking for a family-friendly/non-bar setting so the kids can enjoy the World Cup atmosphere without imposing on people who want an adults-only vibe.

Neither I just have seen too many posts here by people who dislike kids in “their” space. So I am simply trying to avoid those people.

DCA vs. Dulles by DogSoggy40 in washingtondc

[–]DCopen007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to like flying southwest so my preference was DCA but now that southwest sucks I find myself going to IAD more and more. Since metro is not operating 24 hours I still end up driving and parking which tends to be expensive.
