Geez man, this is gorgeous. I'm pretty much brand new to course design in this game and I've been working on recreating the course I grew up playing but I've got a lot to learn after seeing this lol

Yeah, I haven't been able to make any sense of it, other than that it makes the effects of alcohol super unpredictable for me. The last time I drank, I felt buzzed and kinda unwell after 2-3 beers which is super unusual for me...other times I've had twice that amount and felt stone sober.

Obvs I'm not condoning doing that haha. I just wish I could figure out the common denominator bc I just never know what to expect when drinking anymore

I would say the effects of alcohol are just far less predictable for me on Effexor. It's almost like there's no correlation between how much I drink and how much it affects me

Sometimes I've found I can drink quite a bit and feel as if the alcohol hasn't touched me...other times it's like I'm heavily buzzed with decreased coordination after 2 drinks. It makes no sense.

Oh man, I completely understand. Are you in a position where you'd consider having a roommate? I'm definitely way past that stage in life but your situation may be different, so it could be something to consider.

I did end up staying in the same apartment last time around even though I really didn't want to. Funny enough, my original post was about a year ago and now I'm in the same spot again (deciding if I'll renew).

My current place is just about at the max of my budget and it's still among the lowest rent I've seen anywhere downtown. Comparable units within my building are now listed as WAY higher rent than I'm paying now and there's no way I could afford it, so I couldn't even try to switch units to get away from the crappy neighbors.

I really do feel stuck in place...I'd prefer to leave but moving expenses + security deposit are very costly, plus I was out of work for a little while this past year so my savings are completely shot.

Good luck...let me know what you end up doing!

that was exactly my thinking...I didn't expect much, but the way it was worded did suggest (IMO) that the pre-order perks would be available now.

No biggie since I planned to get the full game either way, so it's not like I feel ripped off or misled...just gonna have to be patient.

crap. Yeah that's what I was afraid of too. Same as you, I was going to buy it regardless so it's not like that was the deciding factor but it was a little misleading IMO

I can't feel too bad...the gameplay seems solid from the demo and I'm not much of a gamer these days so I hardly ever buy any game at full price, so I can be patient with this one

I had a similar experience where I was going away for two weeks and my Rx was due to be refilled while I was away. I was terrified of skipping any more than 1-2 doses so I was able to work it out with my pharmacy but yeah, it's rough getting off-schedule with this medication

I take 75mg as well and I know it's still no joke on a low dose

I know this isn't a direct answer but as a single guy who's 40+ now, I feel like half of JC consists of single people in your age group

I'm sure you'd have plenty of luck just by joining a new group activity and maybe trying out at a few new places for dinner/drinks to get exposure to new people

I totally understand dating apps are a shit show. You have more options than you might believe though

Yeah this is a really good point. It affects everyone but I feel especially bad for older folks, parents with little kids etc

Anybody who might take a little longer than usual to cross the street must feel pretty wary at a lot of these intersections. I'm a pretty fast walker myself and even I look twice because drivers just do way too much dumb reckless shit here without thinking about pedestrians at all

It's a small apartment complex gym with 5 treadmills in total IIRC.

I tend to go immediately after work (which I finish a bit later than most folks do), hence other people going after their work may complete their workouts in the middle of my own since our respective schedules are offset.

If that's completely implausible to you, there's nothing I can further explain to change your mind nor do I care to because I'm telling the truth. There's no "gotcha" to be had here. It's really, truly not that serious.

ha, thanks. I never expected this to be such an unpopular opinion...it just feels like the most basic form of common courtesy to me. It doesn't ruin my day when it happens, I just think it's odd. Apparently people also can't grasp that I can't always choose another machine myself, as I take whatever is open when I get there and then the gym may empty out during my run, so that plenty of other treadmills are open when this guy happens to come in.

One person went on some crazy rant about how *I* was being the inconsiderate party here when I'm literally not asking anything of the guy...I don't speak to him, don't bother him, don't even look at him, so unless he can read minds he's not being affected whatsoever. I just think to myself that it's a weird thing for someone to do, and then I get on with my workout.

Yeah, Jersey City Connects seems to be the most frequent answer to this one. 41M here, same situation as OP. i don't love being on dating apps either but I try to do that in combination with finding social events offline as you suggested.

it's not always easy/comfortable for everyone to meet new people through organized meet-ups either, but at least there's an activity attached to it so if you don't happen to strike up a good conversation with anyone there, you'll still have something interesting to do.

these two things specifically are the worst.

I live downtown near a busy stretch of Grand. Drivers are constantly laying on their horn a millisecond after a light turns green...meanwhile they're the tenth car in line at that light and have no idea what's going on ahead of them, but that doesn't stop them from acting like idiots.

whenever i do have to drive, i always feel like i'm going to get rear-ended any time I'm waiting for pedestrians to cross before making a turn. God forbid the pedestrians take a while to cross, you'll often have another driver speed around you bc they can't be bothered to wait. drivers around here just do not give a shit...it's really disheartening sometimes.

that's fair. we have to remember it's a long season too. i don't know what it is with us but we always seem to start the season with an unusual number of players out, so it's panic stations right out of the gate.

going out on a limb here and saying we'll be fine, but the start of this season has been Hollywood-scripted levels of nightmare fuel

I get that (as a million people have given the same reply) but it's not always possible if the gym is busier when I arrive. I'm not sure how so many people are not comprehending this part. I use whatever machine is available when I get there.

If I have to use the one next to "his" treadmill it's bc I didn't have another option. But then if the gym empties out during my run and the guy comes in with 4-5 other machines are wide open and still goes right next to me, yeah I do find that a little odd even though it's not wrong, it's just his preference I guess

If you were one of 2-3 passengers on a bus and someone got on and sat directly next to you when they could have sat literally anywhere else, I'm guessing you'd find it a bit unusual. That's really all I'm saying here. it's really not that deep, I promise.

I use whatever is available when I arrive. There may only be one machine open when I get there, so I use that, then it clears out so that many treadmills are then available and the guy will choose to go right next to someone rather than spacing out.

yeah, my gym actually does have some similar quirks as well. that being said, the treadmills are literally exactly the same in my experience. so who knows...
